| Looks like Newcastle could sign Duff in the next few days. We have apparently outbid Spurs (about £10M) and are now free to talk to the player. Watch this space... |

Can not believe Real Madrid didn't do to try and sign him... Roberto Carlos wants to leave and most likely will end up in Chelsea, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out we will need 2 good players in that position... :o :o |

- Manuel Fernandes (Benfica) to Portsmouth for 8.5 million euros (that's what they paid for the 50% of the player Benfica owned). Fantastic deal for Benfica since the player has been injured for a while and there are some doubts over his health. |
transfer cancelled as he failed medical tests :haha: :haha: |

| quote: | Juve ponder Givet bid
Saturday 22 July, 2006
After netting almost £30m in the last week through player sales, Juventus are ready to spend some of that cash on reinforcements for the new campaign.
Boss Didier Deschamps has admitted that the club are looking to sign at least three players following the mass exodus of footballing talent after the club’s demotion to Serie B.
After waving goodbye to Emerson, Fabio Cannavaro, Gianluca Zambrotta, Lilian Thuram and packing Patrick Vieira’s bags, the Coach is preparing to welcome some new faces.
Reports in Italy on Saturday suggest that a primary objective for the scandal-hit giants is Monaco youngster Gael Givet.
Born in 1981, Deschamps believes that the Frenchman is the ideal candidate to replace Cannavaro in the centre of defence.
Deschamps is a massive fan of the stopper after coaching him with success during his time on the Principality bench.
The Bianconeri, facing up to life in the Second Division, are apparently ready to bid around £5m for the 25-year-old.
It’s unclear at this stage whether Monaco would agree to a sale seeing as his present agreement doesn’t expire until June 2009. |
Then we'll get rid of Vieria, Zlatan and probably Camo to. Then we can start building a great team :D |

Look like its a done deal. Apperantly you lads only paid 5 million aswell. Maybe they didnt want to sell to a team who are a bigger threat to them?
He'll be a great signing for yous. Excellent player. Would of liked to see him go to Spurs so he could link up with Robbie keane but i think newcastle is still a good move for him. He needed to get out of chelsea.
Also, i cant see Roberto Carlos going to chelsea, i dont think they would want him. |

I could be wrong, but I think Jose wants Roberto Carlos as a backup rotation because of the possible arrival of Ashley Cole... but who knows... |

What do you guys think is going to hapen to Juventus in the following years? I mean, I know that they will probably get back to serie A in at most 2 years, but after that, how long is it gonna take them to be the tem they were? I mean, they probably wont have much money to buy players right since they've sold all their stars relativley cheap..

I think 54% of Juventus income was on TV-rights and sponsors, I read that somewhere but I can't remember where. The money will come back after a while when Juventus (Hopefully) has reached their goal (To be back in Serie A).
The players who's left us is easily worth at least the double. So far we've sold Cannavaro and Emerson to Real Madrid for about 20 million ¢ã while Zambrotta and Thuram has been signed by Barcelona for almost the same money. We've earned 40 million ¢ã on 4 players who's easily worth about 60 million ¢ã.
It's a very tough way back, because we're forced to build a whole new team. That team will mostly contain of our own players in the beginning and hopefully we'll be able to buy some future prospects instead of those big players. Zambrotta was a future investment when he came from Bari to Juventus a long time ago, and you all saw what he can.
It's going to take us a couple of years, but we'll hopefully come back on top. |
