The only result would be death and destruction on both sides, pre-emtive strikes, war, threats.... all solve nothing.

Israel has nukes. If Iran attacks Israel... Trust me, there are a lot of jumpy people there, who still remember the Holocaust. If their country is attacked, there isn't gonna be anything left of Iran. |

Iran and Iraq were basically two third world countries fighting each other, one side was superior in numbers, the other in intelligence. No one prevailed, no one was supposed to.
Today Iran is facing tactical bombardments, not invasion. Iran can't do anything about it. Sure they'll shoot down some planes, but the destruction of key military points and its nuclear plants will be completed faster than you think.
1 million iranians can't just head to israel, there's just over one thousand kilometers seperating Iran and Israel. A logisitical nightmare and not mentionning very easy targets to the Air Force.
So my answer to the thread's question: as soon as possible to get this thing over with and start pressuring Syria then bomb them:toothless |
Iraq was backed by the US + allies
Iran was all alone
+
US has no balls to attack Iran
Sanctions are opposed by China and Russia (what a surprise:rolleyes: )
a War or any kind of strike would also be opposed by those two countries
+ it will cause huge instability
therefor, WON'T HAPPEN
and
syria's Irans Bitch :toothless |

The only reason bush is a millionaire is because his family has already been rich for a very long time.
His Grandfather did sell steel to Nazi Germany after all & made huge amounts of cash.
Also not to mention all his "friends" in the oil companies. |

I DID say earlier in the thread that everyone with relatives in Iran should get them the hell out NOW. It's better to get offended and save your relatives than to sit here and bliss out and one morning wake up, turn on CNN and find out that they're all dead. |

We both agree the leaders are a bunch of idiots, there is no argument there. The discussion is about – how these same idiots have the influence and the power to stir up ‘trouble’ for the US.
Your argument is: it’ll go down without much trouble, because Iran is a sitting duck.
And I believe it’ll play out as anything but.
EDIT - to the other poster:
Lets not exaggerate, Iran was not fighting alone. They had support, a small amount of support from the US and Russian made equipment. But the fact is Iraq was getting much greater same support from US/France/Germany and the UK. |
