His Grandfather did sell steel to Nazi Germany after all & made huge amounts of cash.
Also not to mention all his "friends" in the oil companies. |
You may be right - Bush isn't exactly the brightest guy in the room :) Still, he's set for life and then some, so i don't think any of us should be calling him an idiot. |

yes it won't
but
the deficits rising (mainly due to costs of the War on Terrorism in all kinds .. military, homeland security ...)
the US spent 96 billion $ / year in 2003-present to cope with Bioterrorism after the Anthrax incident
eventually all these spending will cuz financial instibility , budget cuts on many social sectors and so alot of angry citizens ... |

sorry Beh, you're off.
Iraq wasn't superior in any of the ways you mentionned, at least not in the same magnitudes Israel and the US are superior to Iran.
Iran and Iraq were basically two third world countries fighting each other, one side was superior in numbers, the other in intelligence. No one prevailed, no one was supposed to.
|
Buddy you should read more sometimes.
At the time of Iran Iraq war Iraq was officially supported by Us and europe. US helped Iraq in lots of ways to take out Iran's regime . When the war started Saddam even changed name of Iran's cities ,that's how confident he was on takin iran out.
Iran's military was totally unorginsed and after the revolution.
But Iran paid of by men.
Even Us's ex prime minister at Clinton's time apolgized Iran for all the deads that they caused back in the day.

I DID say earlier in the thread that everyone with relatives in Iran should get them the hell out NOW. It's better to get offended and save your relatives than to sit here and bliss out and one morning wake up, turn on CNN and find out that they're all dead. |
that's easy for you to say..
I don really get what you are trying to prove.
You think it's that easy to bring them all to herE?..like you'r just funny man...you left me speechless.
But if the war really starts I am not gonna sit here do nothing. I will go back and defend my country. that's all matters. |

Then how about this instead...
Bush lacks sufficient mental capacity for the job of Presidency. |

Clearly, you are well versed in international relations.
I'd give it 'till late 2007 or early 2008. US economy is again on a recline, and with Iraq being a relative disaster, its only inevitable that Iran will be next. Its more feasible since Iraq can be used as a staging ground, and it will give the US a fairly strong presence in the middle east region. Some have said North Korea, but that is just not feasible, nor practical. Iran is rich in natural resources. Just my 0.02. However, I think that when they do go for Iran, there will be a much stronger back lash, and the resulting splater from the fan they'll start spinning will cover us all. |

funny...if one of TA's "popular" people started this thread, the topic starter wouldn't be getting ripped like this, lol.

Anyone of you remember how mighty the Irakian army was showcased in the media before the first gulf war? one million man, ten thousand heavy tanks, missiles, etc etc... it fell down like a castle made out of playing cards faster than anyone expected.
Why? because their army had very low morale, they didn't like their leaders.... the same thing in Iran, the young are the majority of the country, they don't want anything from their leaders and regime, they don't believe in a integrist muslim country. The cracks are showing, its only a matter of time before it all comes down. |
post of the thread, so far, IMHO...
"God" is a great motivator...there are people who will blow themselves up in the name of their god...but an entire nation will not.
No offense intended, but "god" doesn't actively put food on their table...god doesn't keep their electricity and clean water running...etc. The moment the basic essentials of life are threatened or taken away, you'll see exactly what Malek is saying...widespread loss of support for the gov't. It's easy to rally a country around some "anti-zionist" propaganda...but when push comes to shove, that support will begin to evaporate. Sure, people take solace in their religion...and it fuels their resolve to a great extent...but it will only go so far in the face of an overwhelmingly superior opponent when the people don't truly believe in their hearts that their cause is just. Does the avereage Iranian *really* think that building a nuclear arsenal is important enough to die for? that they should all sacrifice themselves, if necessary, in the name of god to "fight the infidels" and all that crap? bull.
Iran has no choice but to yield to internation pressure. They can do it now, peacefully, or they can play this game and end up being attacked. Is there really any other scenario?
The U.S., U.N., int'l community, etc. will not stand by for years, allowing a country, who's leaders advocate the destruction of their "enemies", to potentially build a nuclear arsenal.
Keep in mind a couple of things:
- this issue has never been about "liberating Iran". There will be no invasion...Iran's opponents will just bomb the out the nuclear, military and gov't facilities they deem necessary.
- there is FAR more international support for action against Iran than there was with Iraq. |
