What tracks seems to get more than it deserves? (pg. 20)

Well, the superstar djs are a lot more watched by people, they have a bigger audience, so if some trackīs played by a big jock, then many people hear it and many people like it. Perfect example is Karen Overton - Your Loving Arms, released in 2005 and noone knew about the tune. Then Armin, PvD, Tiesto and many more started to play it, it appeared on ISOS6, ASOT 2006, so MANY people had a chance to hear it. Itīs logical, itīs because a) there are LOTS of releases nowadays b) people are lazy and they even donīt have time to browse through all house/progressive/trance records that are getting released everyday. You have to live with it, thereīs no solution. |

No, I'm talking about people who have heard the tracks numerous times but never cared for them until their favourite DJ started playing them. Then they're suddenly awesome. |

i gotta admit, i love trackling tresure down aswell as "Let go".
Someone mentioned Tiesto - traffic.
I thought when it came out first it was a great song. Basic yeah but still pretty good. but then every single night club began playing it and it just got so sickening! |

A pure example of this is Delerium - Silence.
Delerium is a New Age side project of Bill Leeb and Rhys Fulber. Silence, featuring Sarah Machlachlan on vocals, was first released on their debut LP, Karma, in 1997.
Two years pass sleepily by, Karma enjoys decent reviews and sales for the exposure it gets.
Then the Santuary mix of Silence gets played on Digweed and Sasha's Northern Exposure. And all of a sudden it becomes a CHOOON! Given renewed life, it suddenly started getting remixed by everybody, but it didn't become the big hit until the name "Tiesto" was appended to one of the mixes.
When the original, made 4 years ealier, was far more evocative. Now people think Silence is a Tiesto song, issuing forth directly from his genius.
Like Adagio for Strings, the man has a knack for taking already hits, making superfluous alterations to them, calls them remixes but not really, and through an aggressive marketing campaign akin to blugeoning you over the head, slowly muscles his way as being the sole owner of the track.
And you people don't see anything wrong with this? ....he's getting dangerously close to DJ Mystik/Rankin territory here. |

the difference is that remix is actually good. the vocals work for a trance record and I feel they worked better on tiestos version than on Fades. and believe me Im the last person to praise tiesto. |
