What tracks seems to get more than it deserves? (pg. 8)

"Overrated track" is a bull. Track gets support by many djs, gets played everywhere = is overrated? The reason why the djs play the tunes is they work very well on the dancefloor. Yeah, they can be simple, plain, ghey, but hey, thatīs what people want. These tracks are not for the grown up elitistic chairravers which whine everytime they hear a bit cheesy breakdown or synth, itīs meant to be played on the parties, in the clubs.
Well, now iīve realized the word "hyped" will be more suitable here. Hype is the thing which appears in the moment when many people start to praise it everywhere and the everyone plays that. And I still hope djs play the tunes because they like them, so that means the tunes are good, so they canīt be overrated.

Oh shut the up moaning. Someone somewhere will always dislike your favourite track. Leave them to their opinions without throwing in the insults like a 12 year old. |

iīm not talking about like/dislike, iīm talking about overrated(underrated). thatīs not the same imo. |

I dunno about you but I can think of loads of overrated tunes. a tune becomes overrated because its either nothing special and gets overplayed or simply just commercial crap which the radio rapes.
for instance. Tiesto - Traffic is nothing special at all. especially if you put it next to Tiestos older stuff. Still it got played everywhere just because Tiesto made it. do you honestly think it would get the same amount of plays if some dude called Georgio Ben Khaled from Galapagos had made it? Of course not. |

okay, true. the name does a lot, but if it lies only on that, why the other Tiesto tunes after Traffic did not get such a big support? Iīm not saying Traffic is an omgchoon, but still it was played by everyone - Armin, Ferry, PVD.. everyone. Why Love Comes Again did not get the same support? Itīs labeled "Tiesto" (plus BT of course!) as well. |
