yea its so easy to quote prices like $20 timing belts. . . etc
But how many of you actually have the tools to do auto repairs, let alone know how to do it? Do you have a car lift in your parent's garage? I wont argue that there are a lot of dodgy mechanics out there, but its an occupation like any other and they usually have to pay for all of their expensive tools, tax deductible or not. |

| Timing Belt is the next major change in my B5 Passat. The OEM tensioner is notroiously crap and Im not sure the belt has ever been changed. I did a visual inspect, and didnt find anything out of the ordinary but knowing that a new tensioner is in will make me feel a whole lot better |

You are getting ripped off for sure....get your parents (dad) to go to talk to them...
Or go to an asian mechanic to get it repaired for real cheap... |

One shouldnt always have to run back to their parents with their tail between their legs. Myra (imo) doesnt seem like the person to do that at all.
But yes dealers suck.
1900 about a month and a half ago to replace 2 O2 sensors both ball joints and my antenna. F'ing 140ish/hr dealership charges.... |
