PWNED.

:(

You got robbed big time. Sparks plugs cost around $2-$8. The belt is around $8-$10, while the catalytic converter is around $150-$350. I don't know about the valve canister and the fuel pressure regulator, though.

Why didn't you ask for an estimate and buy the parts yourself and have them charge you for labor only. That would have been a lot cheaper even for a dealership.\

edit: never mind just read the rest of this thread.

this whole scenario brings up the question "why do people think honda and toyota are such quality cars?" cause in reality they are just as bad if not worse than the domestics. my dads civic, once warranty ran out, it was a huge lemon..... my neighboors have two hondas, both still under warranty and they have had 6 transmissions changed in them now. they now finally admit they will never buy a honda again.

my test car at work right now is a 2006 crown vic, with over 500 000 kms on it (its a 1pp high mileage durability car) the only things replaced on it so far was standard maintenance, transmission fluid change every 70k, oil and filter every 5k brakes etc.

the media is so pro import these days its not even funny.

for example, the toronto star ragged on ford back in 2001 with the focus launch becuase they had 6 recalls in the first build year, meanwhile with the launch of the BMW SUV (not the X5, but the otehr one) they had 13 recalls that same year and it didnt make the paper once. recently Toyota just annouced it is recalling nearly 1 000 000 vehicles because of a STEERING SHAFT malfunction, and i had to hunt on teh web to find information about it. wasnt even in the papers....

i used to have a mazda (until the headgasket blew and block cracked this spring. and it had well over 200k on it and was 17 years old. great car, but the parts were rediculusly expensive, when my distributer went, it was a 900 dolalr part from AC Delco, the new mazdas arent bad, and parts have dropped.

Ill be buying a new car this summer, as i now have the money to afford it, and the corporate discount i get from work is quite lucrative... the A plan is key, but i will most likely be getting a new ford fusion, great new car, nice body styling, interior is amazing, drive train is good and efficient, and the price is right, i can lease through the company for 286 a month ( car list price is just over 25 000 for the model i want)

yeah, at this point i've spent more on repairs for my Honda than i did for my Pontiac Grand Prix, and that car was a pile of . i suppose it makes sense though, since i've had my Honda for 3 years now and it's got almost 128k miles.

my first car, a '91 Buick LeSabre, was the most reliable automobile i've ever owned.

this was posted in Demoted's car thread last week but i think it belongs here too...

i want a 2002 Infiniti G20. :D
