I know it's a big deal for 90% of the world but countries like US, Australia, and few others - where soccer is not a national sport - don't really give too much sh!t about WC. Only the immigrants who live there do, right?

Not to flame on soccer - but I just find it a bit boring... you have 90 minutes of kicking the ball around, with no score or it's a tie - and it is still a good game???? Explain that to me again?

So, anyone else feels the same - e.g. "WC - So ing what?":tongue3

Oh, and all the dramma surrounding the players is just another variant of "Soap Opera" for men. Who cares if Becks snorts coke of primo ass or Ronaldinho makes more than G-d and Bill Gates combined?

Soccer is fun to watch, what are you talking about. Yeah it's a ball being kicked around for 90 minutes. So what? How is that worse than wathcing a football being thrown around by a bunch of guys tackling each other for 4 quarters? At least there's no breaks in the game and time outs/huddles being called every 40 seconds (like in basketball, american football). And it's not 'just' immigrants, that's stupid. A lot of Americans love soccer, and it's a very popular choice for high schoolers / middle schoolers when playing school sports.

U're just jealous that most of us enjoy a sport that 90% of the world loves and can have fun together while watching the beautiful game.

Theres no greater feeling when your favourite team wins a final when at half time, they were actually 3-0 down. Well, just to name an example

I don't throw. I hire people to throw for me. I just sit back and watch the throwing commence.

BTW, touchy subject for ya, ay lad?

I think it's because it's hyped up so much. I mean, even though we overpay our athletes in the US (baseball, football, basketball, etc.), the hype never is as large as the World Cup in other countries, and if it is, it's for a shorter event, like the Super Bowl, so it's not constantly talked about for months.

Kind of the same thing applies to the Olympics, even though the US is a top medal winner in both the Winter and Summer games year after year.

Personally, I like the World Cup and soccer and wished that it were more popular in the US. I used to play and was pretty good, but eventually that ended because my high school didn't even have a team, even though there were 225 in my graduating class.

The world cup is awesome, it only comes around every 4 years so you get just enough soccer to last you till the next world cup lol. Seriously though if you cant get excited about the whole thing then maybe you should delete yourself from the human race.

I really couldn't care less about the World Cup. I grew up a fat kid in Canada, which is to say I never played the football/soccer. As a result I never much had any interest in it nor do I understand it particularly well. I've watched a few games to see what all the fuss is about but it does nothing for me. I give respect to the players as it seems like a rather demanding game (physically) but it just doesn't excite me at all. Maybe if I had played growing up or understood it better I would think differently but in truth the game simply bores me.
