baseball sucks, and is boring as . take that back to the 1930s, i dont wanna watch that .

Nah, not really. Baseball is just more intricate and refined when compared to other sports, so it takes a certain level of appreciation to be able to enjoy it, which unfortunately, is a lost cause with people nowadays. I wish I could say the same thing about basketball, hockey, and especially US football (which I absolutely despise), but I can't. |

This is what all baseball fans say. I just don't see it. Okay, so some times you match a specific pitcher to a specific batter to gain an advantage, you take notes of what player can/can't hit what pitches, etc. but really that type of strategizing takes place in every sport. The problem with baseball is that it takes a hell of a long time for nothing much to happen. It's a game of waiting for 3 second bursts of low intensity action.... that's boring to watch. You want to watch an exciting sport.... try lacrosse.... and not that pansy field lacrosse they play in the states... Box Lacrosse... that's a sport! |

i care about not caring! :p
by the way, i also would like to point out that a lot of people who don't fully understand sports in general and who didn't grow up playing every sport in the book (usually girls), probably have a hard time following sports in general.
that's my excuse for not having an interest in soccer or most sports for that matter. i'm not really that competative by nature, so i'm always just like rooting for "good plays" not teams. hahah i go back and forth cheering on the players themselves. it's kinda weird.
like D. Wade from the Heat will have a sick 3 pointer shot and i'm like, "DAAAMN!" and then someone from the Mavericks will have a sweet shot and i'm like, "DAAAAMN!"

actually, my boyfriend says that i either say, "NICE!" or "what the ?!"
hahaha
i dont really pay attention to what i say when i'm watching basketball, but i guess every time someone makes a sweet shot (ok generally speaking, i'm obviously rooting for the heat cuz i'm from miami, but i'll still applaud a nice shot from the other team) i say, "Nice!" and then if the heat makes a crappy play or loses the ball or something, i'm like, "what the ?"
he just sits on the couch laughing at me every 2 seconds, but i can't help it. it's like those are my two automatic responses.

Well, to each their own though. Yes, I'll agree that it isn't as much of a huge action-fest like other sports, especially when there is a back-and-forth pitching duel going on with little opposition. But baseball does go beyond just the simply pitcher vs. batter scenario. It's also about clutch hitting and sacrifice plays, defense, baserunning/steals, pitch counts and keeping the hitters off balance, late-inning rallies, and keeping errors to a minimum. Those things are all pretty damn cool to watch if done right and if you know what to look for.
I guess it just depends on whether you prefer a sport with full-on action or not. I'll just say though that I'd rather take a naturally drawn out game like baseball over an unnecessarily long "stop again, start again" game that turns normal playing time into 3-4 hours like that of football, excitement or not.
As far as lacrosse goes, I can't say I'm all that familiar with it. |

One other thing... if you want a truly boring sport, go watch a nascar race. It's nothing but 2 hours worth of stock cars driving around a circular track 500 times trying to pass each other. |

I HATE NASCAR WITH ALL THE HATE I CAN POSSIBLY HAVE!
See I'm a huge Formula 1 fan, and I love motorsports. I love everything about advancements in the automotive industry, I like LeMans type racing, GT cars, touge, wangan and all that . NASCAR, i mean ASSCRAP is a disgrace to motorsports completely and just makes Americans look stupid. Every mother****** talks like hillbilly, they drive PUSHROD(!!!!) V8s around an OVAL track for hours, in cars that have the susupension set up just for TURNING LEFT in cars that are all the same except for the stickers on the front end to represent whatever car the company says its supposed to be. WTF ever
