What I'm saying is that he has started dropping electro house. Like Abel Ramos - Electro Fun, The Drill - The Drill, Don Diablo - Down The Drain.
I have still yet to hear Tiesto, Armin, or Ferry drop either of those tracks in a set. They may have done that already, I just have not heard or seen them in a set of theirs. |
armin spun the drill at armin only

Im 50/50 on this but there is still tons of time to decide. If I win some tickets I will go for sure.
Some recent PVD sets that I liked:
Paul van Dyk Live @ Colourfest Glasgow Essential Mix 06-04-2006
Paul van Dyk Live @ Fritz SoundGarden 07-06-2006
Thats not saying much because it's (2) out of at least (10) that I have heard for the past 2 months or so. |

With regards to the original post, if you're new to the scene you should definately go, especially if you've never been to a live PvD set.
By the time I arrived to TA I had missed out on what people might consider "the best years" of some top DJ's but I couldn't let that stop me from going to see for myself. I've only recently attended a live Tiesto set as well as a Sasha set. I still haven't heard Digweed, Oakenfold, Sander K, Carl Cox and many other greats. My logic behind going to see these guys spin live (including PvD back when I was all about Armin) was:
"These guys didn't get famous for nothing. Let me at least check it out and decide for myself."
Go. Most likely you won't regret it. |

i agree with alot of your answers
i saw pvd at roxy in nov and he was amazing imo but then at roseland he was ok i think so yea i think hes hit or miss
but this event only comes once a year so i would deff take advantage of it but i dont think its worth goin to see him both nights
and for those who are going to summerstage of the first time i say if your goin to drink get drunk before hand or arrive early and drink as much beer as you can before the crowd comes and the line starts to build up but then you have to still wait on a huge ass line to go to the bathroom so its a catch 22 lol
iam goin on the 19th i hope its nice out |

| I think there's a slim chance to none that he is going to pull off a classics night even though that would be the greatest thing ever. I'm definitely going to one of the days..not sure about both. I have a feeling Saturday's show is gonna be better...just like Armin. Damn..Armin's sat show was incredible..wish i could go back in time and attend both events again. It's gonna be hard for PVD to play just as well as Armin did. PVD has been sloppy thse days. I saw him in DC for his final show at Nation and I wasn't happy at all with the performance. He needs to work on his track selection and mixing. I think he's ing around way too much with abelton or something. |

 were we at the same party?? imo, he was sick that night.
last three tracks...
dogzilla - without you (dub mix)
pvd - for an angel
fable - nightshift
*EDIT*
and the thing about pvd that most regular listeners don't realize is that he seriously packs in the tracks.
- 4 hour armin set = 40-45 songs
- 4 hour pvd set = 60-70 songs
that for one means, he does some very tight and quick mixing, which occassionaly does lead to mistakes. BUT, he's almost always doing something as opposed to armin who felt the need to stand in front of the dj booth for about 4 minutes. By no means am i an armin hater, in fact i had a great time both nights below brooklyn bridge, just pointing out skillwise pvd > armin. if you don't like his track selection, so be it, but plz don't say armin is a better dj. |

+1
but again, I've seen him 20+ times, so that could be why the track selection seemed stale. Although, like I said before, a lot of us are spoiled with the talent we get in this area.
Still love PVD tho, and will continue to go to his shows because I don't want to miss it when he does throw down. |
