I was just comparing the observation. Their tracklists are even less diverse than his are, which was the only comparison at all between them.

As for 40%, I don't listen to every one of his new sets and see every tracklist, but that's not true in my book. I realize it's not a completely representative sample, but what tracks from his most recent EM live from the Coloursfest are that old:

01. Hatiras Pres Da Skunk - Hot Box
02. Marco V - Red Blue Purple
03. Armin van Buuren - Control Freak (Sander van Doorn Remix)
04. Aalto - 5 (Original Mix) [Paul van Dyk Edit]
05. Factoria - Beneath The Surface
06. Solar Movement - Under the Sun
07. Ronald van Gelderen - This Way (Rank 1 Remix)
08. ID
09. Mac & Mac - Listen (Mac Zimms Dub)
10. Sassot - Empty (Ali & Fila Remix)
11. Guiseppe Ottaviani - Through Your Eyes
12. Kuffdam & Plant - The Ones We Loved
13. Beam feat Michelle Aragon - Silent Tears (Shog's 2 Faces Dub)
14. Kuffdam & Plant - Dream Makers (Shog's 2 Faces Mix)
15. Luminary - Wasting (Ronski Speed Remix)
16. Luminary - Wasting (Andy Moor Remix)
17. Leo G. - Supersonic (Martin Roth "Girls Love DJ's" Mix)
18. Divini and Warning - 4 LB (Original Mix)
19. Terranova & Austin Leeds - Shake Me
20. Don Diablo - Down The Drain
21. Camisra - Let Me Show You
22. Paul van Dyk - The Other Side (Deep Dish Other Than This Side Mix)
23. Da Hool - Street Life (Azzido Da Bass Remix)
24. The Egg - Walking Away (Tocadisco Remix)
25. Syndica - Orange Sky
26. DK8 - Murder Was The Bass
27. Placebo - Every Me, Every You (Lexy & K-Paul Remix)
28. Emjay - Make Some Noise (Remix?)
29. Paul van Dyk - For An Angel (Marc van Linden Remix)
30. Paul van Dyk - Time Of Our Lives (UK Club Mix)

Some of them I don't know, but of the ones I do know, only a few were out in 2004 (26, 29, 30). If you were to say 2005, I'd give you that, though.

you can continue to defend pvd, whatever floats your boat. :stongue:

^^^^^Nice edit. :p At least this was better articulated. I'm not really defending him, I'm just responding to the comment that his tracklist hasn't varied since 02-03, which I didn't agree with. Barosoap, for 1, used to love him then. Now he doesn't have the same magic, which he'd have if he were still spinning like he did back then.

haha yeah i was a little cranky when i initially read your post, so i decided to try to express more of what i was meaning..

but i see what you mean.

pvd's tracklists don't change as quickly as armin's but thats also cuz it seems he prefers not to whore every song that comes out. honestly sometimes i feel like my tracklists that i spin (no matter how many music sites i go through) just get boring because armin plays so many tracks that it seems impossibly to find something halfway decent he hasn't spun even just once.

main reason why i respect pvd, is because in my eyes, he looks at djing as just that, playing music at a club that people can dance to. he really doesn't put himself in the forefront above the music and the crowd. a lot of people see this side of him as boring and robotic, but i see it as someone whos humble enough to respect the fact that 90% of the material he/she's playing is not even their own music. look at what happened to oakenfold, tiesto, and now armin seems bit with the "god pose" bug (striking that stance well over 10 times during each of the brooklyn bridge gigs). never have i ever seen pvd strike that pose. the most he's done is probably jump up and down and smile (summerstage last year).

I think I saw a pic of it once, but when I went to go look for the pic I found this instead :p

Likewise. He's not a pop star. He doesn't need to fake cry or put on an emotional front. I'd believe it was allergies before believing that it was forced tears just to get a rise out of people. If it were it'd be the lamest thing EVER. We'll have to call his bluff next time :stongue:

Paul van Dyk Live @ Fritz SoundGarden 07-06-2006

A really solid set. There are two pvds that come on stage, both of which you guys have seemed to illustrate. The pvd that dazzles with superb trance tracks and the pvd who for some reason seems intent on playing these electro dance, sometimes housy tracks that, though they may be good, aren't really his style. Having never seen him at summerstage, I don't really know what genre he will attempt to undertake, but if it's the former than you should definitely attend. When he's on, he's tough to beat for trance and mixing. If he drops plant and kuffdam remixes or tracks by 4 strings, he usually means business.

Looking forward to meeting those of you heading to LoL, i'll post a pic of mine at somepoint.
