George - I don't think I'm an extremist. I would not take a machine gun and gun down bunch of people just because they are arabs living in my city, like Lebanese man did in Seattle.
I will not strap explosives and go to the market to blow up people in the name of Allah.
I will not engage in military action purposely hiding among civilians, knowing that either I won't be shot at or if I will be shot, I'll have number of civilians shot with me for better propaganda.
I'm extimist in my views that Israel should exist. I'm extrimist in my opinion that Jews should not be murdered for being Jews. I'm extremist in believing that we deserve to live as much as a next person. I'm extremist in believing that terrorists should be either dead or behind bars, where they won't be able to harm me.
I'm extremist in believing that trading 1000 terrorists for 2 soldiers is not a possibility. Even 1000 for 1000. Even if I'm one of those kidnapped.
so, yeah... I guess I am an extremist. Thanks for pointing it out. |

And can I ask you to give me your opinion on the settlements and the settlers, just so, you know, I can be safe in the knowledge that what you just said above is sincere...?

George, if we're arguing it from historical terms, from way back in the days, then there's no such thing as "occupied territories". If we're talking about post '67 borders and Israel's settlements on those territories - again, plenty of arguments against that.
If you don't mind me asking - how do you feel about Ireland or Scottland? I do think those are also "occupied territories".

My question (which you are refusing to answer) concerns 'extremism', which you are so much against. So answer the question: What are your views on the settlers???
(I would be quite happy to discuss Scotland, Ireland (I presume you mean Northern Ireland) and even Wales with you should you wish to start a thread on the topic?) |

I'm not refusing to discuss anything. As I said earlier, my views on settlers is that IT IS OUR LAND. Show me coherent evidence that it is not and I'll be glad to re-consider my position. However, as it stands - that has been historically Israeli.
And if you want to talk about appeasement in the interest of reducing tensions - namely, disengagement plan, including removing Israeli citizens (even by force) from so-called "occupied territories" - well we've seen that plan in action. It did not bring peace nor additional safety to Israel. As a matter of fact, it offered a better launching positions for Hamas, with ability to strike targets further inland.
So, please - do enlighen me with your views on Northern Ireland (which I presume you're referring to as "Monkey Island" in your "location" setting). |
