I really want to know what markus played last night he played some familiar tunes and some tracks ive never heard :D
DaveT
ok, after seeing those pics it's safe to say it was more packed than at the LF Afterparty. :p

When we left there was still a big huge line outside (for VIP), so seems like there were tons of late arrivers!

I'm surprised non the trance DJs played Control Freak....I was wanting to hear it.

just got back. wow did it get packed. We stayed at the radisson right across the street so parking was not a problem, we just walked a block over. Got in just as markus was starting and got a few drinks in. I liked his set, he put in some more trance tunes than a normal set, but I think it was just becuse it was a massive with trance djs.

Armin played some kick ass tunes also, although towards the end I started to grow tired of the big buildup and him putting his hands straight out. But still kick ass music.

It was my first time seeing judge jules, he held it down and played a lot harder than the others. Towards the end of his set I went out to catch the end of fischerspooner. I dunno if it was fischerspooner or not, but the dj outside had no skills. But the music was alright, I eard the angello & Ingrosso remix of sweet dreams. Then they introduced felix the housecat, and I was like :wtf: . so i dunno what was going on out there so I went back in for the end of jules.

Pvd was setup and played like he always does, kick ass set. We didn't stay the whole time, but it was cool seeing paul pump his fist in the air and interact.

staying across the street was kick ass, I dont like traffic when I park, so it worked out. There were a ton o sweaty e-tards and pushy people towards the end. but for most of the show we stayed up in the balcony. The sound was decent up there so I didn't mind. I only saw Malia there, no other TAs.

all in all, fun times, but if they dont have a kick ass line up next year im not coming. :p

I just got home, and WOW, was it a packed and wonderful night. I have NEVER seen this many people before at previous MMs and I've been going for 4 years straight. :eyespop:

We exited the freeway at 9pm and didn't get to park until practially 9:45pm. The local roads were sooooo backed up because of this event. Getting in didn't take too long since we had hard tickets (maybe 20 or so minutes of waiting?).

As soon as we got in, Markus was banging away. He dropped some great tunes, and I was thinking this is going to be a great start for the night! Then Armin came on and he spun some BEAUTIFUL melodies. I couldn't ID his tracks because I'm not familiar with his new stuff, but whatever it was, it was GOOD. Then Judge Jules came on around 1am and he kept everything going. By then, the main floor AND the bleachers are completely filled. WOW. Lastly, PVD came on at 2:30am and maybe it's because it's near the end of the night, but I couldn't get into his music very much. We stayed for about 20-30 minutes listening to him, but nothing got us excited, so we decided to leave (and dodge the mass traffic later).

Sorry this is kind of short, since I've got to catch some zzzzz's, but I hope everyone else enjoyed this night as well! It was great seeing some familiar faces (and new faces), as usual. :D

My god, we had the exact same night, timing wise and experience wise. My friend and I came in while Markus was spinning and met up with Gehzumteufel. Shortly thereafter Hadi ****** came over and directed us to his location behind the center visual booth and we pretty much stayed there the entire night.

Judge Jules, I say, by far had the best set, the climax of the night right when the rolling reached its zenith. He was cranking out the hard tunes, which got the crowd going. Then we only stayed for the first hour of PVDs set, which I was not feeling at all. He did spin some good tracks; however, his transitions and mixing just didn't flow smoothly and when you are in the state of mind I was in last night your senses are amplified and you notice these things.

Thanks Hadi for the hook up and light shows. You made me photophobic!!! :eyespop: :)

Wow... what a night.

My first massive so bear with me.

My plan was to leave SD to visit my sister halfway up around 4:30... totally didn't work out because my rearview mirror fell off. So 2 hours later because I screwed up gluing the damn button on the window... I finally got set underway.

Got there around 11:00 after the parking fiasco and traffic crap. Finally got in after willcall around midnight... so much crap I wanted to be there so much earlier.

Loved the bit of Armin I actually heard. He is my #1 tbh so it's no suprise. Judge was good and not as commerical or housey as I thought he would be, which was a nice suprise. We left during part of that set and went and jammed to Sub Focus on the DnB stage for about an hour and a half, which was great. Then we chilled listened to PVD and left early after not really diggin the vibe.

Great tracks from what I heard:

Armin - Sail & Love You More

Sub Focus - Airplane/Flamenco (I swear it was an early promo-style press)
Matrix & Futurebound - Universal Sound
TC - Jump/Game Over

PVD
Rank 1 - Beats @ Rank1dotcom

That's basically how we felt and what we did. We left around 3:30AM. I went wit my gf and some friends. A couple of my friends and I drank on the way the there. That really got the night going well. Inside, I got a couple more drinks to keep my buzz going.

Markus Schulz > AVB > Judge Jules > PVD

Can someone post the tracklist to what Mark Schulz played?

Sorry, just that this years LF Afterparty production realllly upped the anti on west coast massives. Still nothing comapred to Europe, though. :p

So true, here's my experience at Sensation White for comparison:

Arrived at 11 p.m. and parking was pretty easy, as there were several gigantic garages around the arena. You just took a ticket and prepaid at the machines, making for easy exit

Since ID&T staffed more entrances, the wait to get in was less than 5 minutes (this was at 11 p.m. and this event drew 40,000 people!) The security pat-down was VERY thorough too, unlike LF SF Afterparty where, after waiting in line 45 mins. with my hard ticket, the security lady barely touched my shirt and passed me through.

Once inside the arena, it was necessary to purchase debit cards (for 10, 20 or 50EUR) and then these were used instead of cash, speeding up the lines greatly. Any amount on the card not used was refunded during the last hour of the event.

Vodka drinks were 6EUR, and when I asked my Dutch friend what to tip, he started laughing (then answer is "never anything," of course!) Max time I waited in line for a drink or the restroom was 5 mins.

As for food, each station seemed to be owned by a different company, so there was a good variety of stuff to eat (not fantastic, but good by stadium standards...pizzas, tacos, burritos, sandwiches, etc.)

Best of all, the crowd of 40,000 was beyond nice! (probably because they didn't wait in line for hours...lol) Most people who bumped into me apologized right away and then insisted that I go first in front of them.

I hope that we can learn a little from our European friends! Sorry, don't want to hijack the Monster Massive thread, so looking forward to more reviews and pics! :D
