I had a million obstacles to getting there too.

I didn't end up finding any of my friends.

Memorable moments: Judge Jules dropping Mr. Brightside! Someone in the house arena playing The Doubledutch Bus Song (Dub)! (very old school)

Was it just me or did anyone else notice that there was an unusually high number of Asian ravers at MM? There wasn't even half as many proportionally at EDC.

Suprisingly there were a lot of 15-16 year olds there who were sober. MM had a lot of e-tards but it also had the largest gathering of teens who were sober than any other massive I have seen.

The trance area was ok but the house area turned out to be amazing.

So (I go to boarding school in Ojai) I left Ojai at 3PM took a bus to Ventura where I was going to take a greyhound bus at 4:45PM to get home in LA around 7PM. (My mother accompanied me since it was family weekend and she was returning home). Freaking 5PM bus never came. I had to wait until 7:30PM til the bus got there.

So I missed the TA meetup at 8:30PM. I didn't get to LA til 10:00PM. I missed the RaveLinks meetup at 10PM(I have like 3 very close RaveLinker friends who I wanted to meetup with).

So my mother decides she wants to go with me at the last minute. So we call a taxi and there is so much traffic. I have never seen so much traffic in LA before (that is saying something).

We get there and I get my ticket quickly from GrooveTickets will call. But we have to wait in line 20 minutes to buy my mom's ticket.

We had to wait in line like 20 minutes to get in to the Sports Arena around 11:30PM.

It was packed everywhere. I couldn't move around without nicely shoving people. The floor was packed from the front to the very back. I normally go for the front but it was so packed I didnt even try.

I missed Markuz cause of that stupid late bus.

I saw Armin and I thought he was decent but I definitely had expected much more from him.

Judge Jules rocked. I was so happy when he dropped Mr. Brightside. Earlier that day I had actually thought how amazing it would be to dance to Mr. Brightside at MM. (My wish came true).
However he poorly executed playing As the Rush Comes. I mean its an amazing song that should get everyone pumped but it was played in a random place.

Paul Van Dyk was good but I expected much more from him than just playing a few good tunes and then all homogenous hard trance. He played one really amazing song that he started out one of his best sets ever with (I think it was his ColumbiaHalle set).

Now the house area was were the party was at.

I don't know who was playing but they dropped the Doubledutch Bus Song (dub). It was amazing. I heard that someone played Sweet Dreams (Angello and Ingresso remix). Felix Da Housecat ruled!
It was amazing when he dropped world hold on!

It was fun but the talent that I went there for didn't turn out to be so great. But the house was worth it!

I danced by myself in the crowd the whole time walking around looking for my friends but I didn't end up finding anyone. So next time I should meetup with some TAs before the rave so I don't dance alone. (It was OK my mom was there. She was sitting in the seats the whole time and she ended up dancing to Paul Van Dyk's set a little [she doesn't really like trance all that much generally]

Summary: HOUSE RULED! [I love trance but the house artist performed much better]
Armin and PVD were not as good as expected or didn't play to their potential.
Judge Jules thumbs up except for when he played As the Rush Comes.

And I am only 17 so don't bag on all ages because otherwise you wouldn't get to party with me for a while.

It's all WaVy GrAvY.... But yeah.. What REALLY made my night was that I found about 40 bucks total on the ground(I guess it was just my day??).... And also when Judge Jules played "Cherry blossom" Before the event... I told everyone that it would be so cool if He was tp play "Cherry Blossom" and to my suprise.. He did!!! Hah!

Yeah I think the best song PvD played was Digital Pressure - Aftershokk which is the first song from his Live at Trance Energy 2003 set. That was the one I thought was from his ColumbiaHalle set. He definitely dropped it. What a great tune!

Especially when they were tryin to walk past by us.. They would just ram into us and everything..!! Not tryin to be a little "itch" and complain but... I don't know.. Just wasn't really feelin it... Yeah.. Almost got violated too from a gay dude... It was NOT COOL!!

Bottom line too many pushers, VIP not worth it,

You must not have seen or known about the VIP section outside in the corner outside in the house room. Sorta on the side behing the DJ. That place was fully stacked all night. Made my VIP ticket VERY worth it!

too bad it was way too packed this year. it sucked trying to get from place to place. the house area was the only area with at least a little bit of space to move around. which brings me to this question. is there anyone who spent most of the night out in the house area who knows the name of the dj that spun around 10-11pm ish? olav basoski was supposed to spin during that time. but he didn't make it. instead. some other dude was spinning. but I can't for the life of me figure out who it was?? he had a black shirt on with some red tie or something and black wristbands on his arms. haha.

house room ftw this year. and vip no matter what this year was not worth it. when they allow ANYONE in the vip area no matter if there is multiple areas and 1 is compromised it ruins it.

pablo: yeah i know. but it was because i wanted you to at least see all these guys but in the end your smart for not going. my reason for going was fueled by other things, my shirt, so i went. unfortunately that didnt work out cause i couldnt get anywhere near the djs.

Wow Guys... it is an all ages Massive..... with one of the best trance line up's Monster had to date. Did you expect that less then 10,000 to be there??

Just think if Markus/Armin/PVD played like they do when we see them at clubs... you all would be complain that it was too slow or to this or too that. Every time I seen a Dj at a Massive they turn it up a few notches and play a little "harder" then they usually would. If they didn't it would be odd.

This year I got to Monster Massive a little after 8. So I did not hit any traffic on the 110. I thought some girl was going to rear end me though when I got off the Freeway! :nervous:

There was all ready a huge GA line at the front of the area. And when we payed for Parking they made us park allllll the way on the right hand side inside a parking structure.
Kris and I walk to the VIP entrance get searched( I had a hard time getting my handcuffs in) and I go get my ticket and They told Kris who ordered hers threw the mail she had to so Some place else to get a ticketmaster ticket and they where not clear on telling her where to go. :whip: They should have a system where they scan both the tickets that where mailed from groovetickets and ticketmaster ones. I did hear that they where moving the line fast this year... that is a plus

Once inside I meet up with Ben and Sebby by the TA meet-up spot. It was a little after 8:30. I also take out my digi cam ;) Kris meets up with us a little latter and by the looks of it the TA meet-up was a bust :( So we went into the VIP area and got our first drink. They where weak and where only serving beer and cheep Vodka/mixers. Markus walks by us puts down his bag and comes back to say hi to Kris and I. He was about to go on soon so I go out the main area with Kris and Ben and get my spot twords the front and in the center.

Lee Was on and playing a pretty good set. Markus takes over at 9:30 and kills it. Since it was a massive he played "harder" then normal but I loved it.
The arena went compleatly nuts when he Played a remix of Without you near, Loving Arms, and open your eyes. There had to be way over 10,000 people with their hand in the air. He also played Leama and Moor "waiting" (not sure of the remix) and year zero(not sure of the remix)
Such a amazing amazing set. Twords the end it started getting crazy twords the end. I got pushed back by these crazy Crackies they where falling all over the place. There was a few times that I got pushed hard. I had to push some people away. One Guy wanted to give me a light show some other guy totlay got in my face to dance, and one guy even took off my hat:whip: I also had to phycially push this guy off me that had wraped his arms around me and practly had his body on me:whip:

At the end of Markus set I could not take the crowd any more it just got too crazy in the front. So I went back into the VIP area got another Drink and enjoyed armin's set from backstage.
I enjoyed Armins set. He flowed nicly out of Markus set and built it up. Everytime I see Markus and Armin together they always feed off of each other. However I though Armin's set was "top ASOT tunes" but it was still Great non the less. :D
Tunes I knew:
That track that goes "black is the color of my true loves hair" (can not think of the ID)
Life less ordinary
Sail
4 Strings-Take me way(remix) also played by Jules.
The main area was packed and the energy was off the hook.

Jules takes over and kicks up too 145. This is where I wonder around and hang out. I am not really into Jules sound. When I was walking around the VIP area looking for people I saw a fight break out in one of the cabannas!

the:nervous: I hardly see fights at events. I ran into some people but not a lot. Come to think about it I did not see a lot of people I knew. I also did not see a lot of people dress up like the pervious years.
Around 2ish ish I decided to take off. I knew if I left at 4 It would be a bitch to leave the event and I did not want to be on the road with crackheads.

Oh.. one more thing.. I thought this years production was weak compared to last years and the year before that. There was nothing speical about the stage decorations or lighting. I take it some of the production money went into the line up.

I will post my picts soon!

djGT
i just finally woke up today, what a fun night. traffic sux! :whip: arena was way too packed. :wtf: loved the main stage though, music-wise. end.

No, he didn't grab my hips and press himself on me... He was trying to freak with me or something... I moved away but he kept coming closer to me... Took one look behind me to see who it was and it was the same dude... So I just moved across from where my cousins and I were at and he stopped...(o_0)
