Well, I have to say that I had an AMAZING time at MM 06. I had very high expectations because MM 05 was my first edm event, and for the most part, they were met. True, it was packed, true, there were a bunch of ed up people, and true, there were way too many underage kiddies running around. But what would you expect? If I had not been taught of the taboos of drugs and raves when I was 16, I would have mowed lawns for months to be there. Aside from the crowdedness though, I was able to block out all the negativities, and have a blast w/ my friends. The music was insane, the lines weren't that long at 8:30 when I got there, and all my first-time edm friends had a blast. I think as long as you have a positive outlook on the situation, you will have a good time.

Some of Armin's selections were good. Jules had nothing to impress me with, and when PVD started dropping For an Angel, the new Lange vs. Emery, and his wonderful re-work of Born Slippy by underworld which I found so surprising that anyone with me did not know that song because they are skeptical about watching Trainspotting. That's when his set got good, but once that happened..oh no event promoters say we have to go home, we had an extra hour of grace, but nooooooooo.

...There was a time when he had several tracks at once, or beat from one song and lyrics from others, while adding weird effects on Ableton to them. That was awesome! Holy !!! (quote by Woody, pvd)

i thought that was bad ass!! my memory is cloudy, but i think "for an angel" was one of the tracks played simultaneously. does anyone remember?

i arrived just in time for armin van bureen's set. i checked out videos posted on youtube of armin's recent sets. i was hoping he'd drop 2devine's black is the colour and he did :) night was off to a great start. i planned to check out the house room after armin. saw jules a couple of years ago but wasn't impressed. however, last weekend i was drawn into jule's set and couldn't leave. i caught the last half hour of felix's set. was i tripping or did he drop the original version of nirvana's "lithium" and marilyn manson's "beautiful people?" totally unexpected; enjoyed it though:) after felix, i went to the main room for pvd (curious but does anyone know how long felix's set overlapped into pvd's set? i'm guessing i missed pvd's first half hour or so) pvd's set rocked! i thought his set was both hard and uplifting at the same time.

there definitely were some dumbasses: guy who seemed strung out on acid/shrooms wanted to get crazy w/ me.. gay guy tried to get up on me (someone on this thread pointed out a similar situation.,i agree man "NOT COOL") but i put all this behind me right away and focused on the positive. the majority of people at the event were ing cool! i thought the vibe was great overall. i even met a few ta's for the first time. awesome memorable night

too bad it was way too packed this year. it sucked trying to get from place to place. the house area was the only area with at least a little bit of space to move around. which brings me to this question. is there anyone who spent most of the night out in the house area who knows the name of the dj that spun around 10-11pm ish? olav basoski was supposed to spin during that time. but he didn't make it. instead. some other dude was spinning. but I can't for the life of me figure out who it was?? he had a black shirt on with some red tie or something and black wristbands on his arms. haha.

Was it Felix the Housecat?

Yes yes that was me! Fun times fo sho! Show me a pic so I can remember you. I did have some Djarum cigs.

There was also some guy in outside VIP who swallowed my roach. He was wearing a lighted marijuana T-shirt. I also gave some waters and pinaple juice to those that weren't VIP at the end of the night. I felt like I gave them life!

Anyone else see me? Here are the only two pics I took the whole night. I usually take a camera but not with what I was wearing that night!

Can you say Monster MADNESS? Damn I never seen the Sports Arena that packed. Luckily right when we got inline they opened up 2 new lines for only girls. So we waited pretty much 0 minutes to get into the Arena.

Call me cheesy, but I love to karoake and Markus and Armin helped me do just that with the tracks they dropped. But what was up with the duplicate songs?

I stayed in the main room mostly. I really wanted to go to the House Room area, but that shiet was HELLA packed!!

It was good seeing vixydish, woody and I think that was the only TA's I saw! =(

I don't know about you, but the vibe at all age events are pretty dick lately. Can't even get someone to take a pic of you and your friends w/o some sort of *rolling eyes*.

Left a wee bit early to beat the crowds and head over to get me some big black cox! =)

Good times!!

One of my favorite EDM events to date.

Went with two of my best friends, and met up with my girl and her friends and enjoyed an endless supply of beer, water, pills, laughs, hugs, and dancing :D

We were all having too much fun to bitch and complain about people, lines, and whatever else there is to bitch about. I think that if your surrounded by good friends with a positive energy, you will have fun :)

All the dj's did well, and played well and who cares that life less ordinary was played four times it blew the roof off every time

My only complaint was that i got lost for the first hour and a half, lost two pills in the meantime, but it was all good when i found everyone. :)

Did anyone else notice that PvD opened with one of his 2003 openers? Digital Pressure - Aftershock  holy !! totally unexpected.

Yeah that was my favorite moment when PvD played it. He used that song to open Trance Energy in 2003. It was amazing to hear it live!

It was such a coincidence (but great) to run into you, Karen! :gsmile: Did you meet up with Richard afterall?

And of course, it was wonderful to run into dj GT / Project C and the gang. You guys have to get another gig so we can come and cheer you on! And one of these days, we WILL make it to the afterhours...promise. ;)

I had a great time overall. I think it was well over max capacity though. VIP really came in good hand and was well worth it for all the free drinks and extra room to walk around. I enjoyed Markus and Judge Jules the best. I took some vids, one of Armin, two of Judge Jules and one of PVD opening his set. Will post them later.
