wow, heard about this but this is the first time ive seen it... WHAT WAS HE ON??
I guess if he was Chris Rock it would of been funny... |
Or would we be asking what chris rock was on?
Luckily i can take a joke so when chris rock makes fun of white people i dont cry about it. But im sick of people getting mad when a white comic tells the same jokes as a black one yet the white guy is somehow a racist. |

look at borat. I bet the only reason his speech is not deemed hate speech under canada's pathetic laws is because he himself is jewish.
I found it completely genius though that he made fun of jews while speaking in hebrew (the supposed kazahk language)!!
I also refer to the word N*gger. Somehow black people can say it but white people cant. Those out there say its just black people taking back the word. Ok fine, but a true repossesion of a word means that ANYONE can say it without offense. Much like the words gay and queer has been taken back thus allowing ANYONE to say it freely.
To say that one group of people can say a word or a particular kind of joke and another cannot is in fact in itself racist. Anyone who thinks otherwise needs to give their heads a shake and re-examine what the word racism means |

Are we sure we all listened to the same thing..
While a comedy routine that pokes fun at the short comings of certain groups or people as a whole is one thing.. Lashing out with complete hatred at specific individuals .. and uttering racial slurs at them is completely different..
This was not part of his routine - 'fifty years ago we would have had you hung upside down with a fork up your ass' I fail to see the humor in that sentence.. those words were said in hate just as his tone and use of the N-word..
I can appreciate Chris Rock or any other black comic who can find the short comings of white people and speak to it with comedy. The same for a male comic on the subject of women, white to black so on and so on.. when we can see the world through laughter it helps us not take ourselves so seriously..
Michael Richards is free to feel and say what he wants .. just be prepared to stand up the the consequences of your beliefs.
As for Borat I was as equally insulted as I was entertained.. |

Lashing out with complete hatred at specific individuals .. and uttering racial slurs at them is completely different.. | first of all, him shouting like that is part of his routine and character act. He does the "kramer" on stage. Second id like to know what went on just before they cut into that tape. Second, id like to know what was cut out when the tape cuts to the next scene. What is the real story as opposed to the one presented?

how do u know? And maybe it was or wasnt but he sure sounded like he said it in his usual loud boisterous character. Many people do improv at the moment. What was the topic he was discuessing before the black guy interupted? Was it a joke based on race? Whats the context here?

And id love to see the reaction to a white "chris rock" if one were to ever have the guts to emerge.

Ah.. him stating that he lashed out in a fit of rage solidifies that this was not at all part of his routine.. which was started by a member of the audience heckling him by saying - "My friend does not think you are very funny..." This after they were talking as members of the audience.. Richards then lashed out with the N-Word..
the video produced is off of a member of the audience's cell phone.. not a professional job by any means.. from the reports and interviews I have seen of those in attendance verify that he went nuts..
He has also been banned from ever performing at The Laugh Factory again..
This was not part of his routine but some built up hate inside..
Jax1 your opinion is one that I am usually in agreeance with but I don't think you are seeing the video for what it is.
I appreciate that you are looking for a silver lining.. it is just unfortunate that there is not one to this story. |
