That's because you're part of that 300,000,000 person minority they call North America. |

This is the same guy quoted as saying at Global Gathering 2005: "Errrr, what do you want me to say? I'm not a talking dj." to Judge Jules :wtf: |
This interview has been translated from Dutch... where I imagine, being his mother tongue, he's just a touch more articulate. But thanks for trying to be funny in this thread. |

And they make more money than the people in Madagascar who know "Ruud Van Nistelrooy"
Thus in terms of "World Famous", they matter more. |

Let's put it like this. Until September, Ruud Van Nistelrooy was an integral player for English Premiership football club Manchester United, who are the most supported club in the world. For five years he was one of the most famous players in the Premiership, a league regularly followed by an international audience of a billion people, the most watched sporting league in the world. He also featured for Holland in the last two World Cups, also watched by immense global audiences exceeding every other sporting event. The World Cup has audiences two to three times the size of those who tune into the Summer Olympics.
Who you and your neighbours know of is immaterial. |

Sounds like the famous, "I only did it once, and I did not inhale." LOL. Nevertheless, a good interview.

Wow, that was pretty deep.
My $0.02: from the few times I've chatted it up with him he was always down to earth and a class act. I know a lot of ppl have difficulty placing themselves in his shoes but popularity/fame/$ all come with pitfalls -- don't think it's all peachy keen living (a hectic life) out of a suitcase.
In contrast, I've met a handful of intl DJs who are a headache to deal with and talk as if they're god's gift to the world. |

Okay, lets have a pissing contest over whether Nistelrooy is bigger than Tiesto.
Shall we? |

I don't recall saying one was bigger than the other. I recall saying that hundreds of millions of people know who most of those people are, so by any stretch of the imagination they are "world famous". You seemed to be suggesting that, because you'd never of them, they actually weren't world famous at all. Which is obviously a crock. |
