You know, the entire planet's TV feed of the Athens Olympics didn't come off Australia's cameras, and Channel 7s house crew.

well actually yes.

Coverage of Olympics are more or less universal, all produced and transmitted by a specific host broadcaster which is nominated by the IOC. So its one batch of cameras and one signal going all over the world.

Look, heres the one for Beijing:

It just becomes a contextual issue.

Yes, but TA wouldn't be TA if people couldn't argue about meaningless bull.

Let's put it like this. Until September, Ruud Van Nistelrooy was an integral player for English Premiership football club Manchester United, who are the most supported club in the world. For five years he was one of the most famous players in the Premiership, a league regularly followed by an international audience of a billion people, the most watched sporting league in the world. He also featured for Holland in the last two World Cups, also watched by immense global audiences exceeding every other sporting event. The World Cup has audiences two to three times the size of those who tune into the Summer Olympics.

Who you and your neighbours know of is immaterial.

Dude football? WTF...TA...not FA

yes, I'm well aware of that. Otherwise the stadium would be full of cameramen, and no audience.

You know, you can't see all 100 or so cameras at the event at the same time on your TV screen. nor can you hear all the soudns at the same time and at the same volume. Nor can every country hear the commentators from all over the world. Thank God, considering the retards they had working at Channel 7 at the time.

how bloody ridiculous it was for them to present sympathy for any country that wasnt' a leading economic power.

but yeah, another stupid thing to argue about.

I remember when they showed Tiesto on the Olympic opening ceremony here on Swedish TV. The host said something like "Here is DJ Tiesto.... he is supposed to be the best DJ in the world......." and then they showed very few glimpses of him and you could barely hear the music.
I'm pretty sure that not a single person which isn't into the scene had a ing clue about who that guy spinning the records was.

Point: Football is known worldwide, DJing not so much. People know their pro players. Most fans will know the top players from each team, be it national or local. It's just how it is. As for DJs, they are known worldwide, but in a sense it is still underground knowledge.

yeah. you are absolutely right.

everyone who doesnt agree for this, just STFU!

here in brazil, the tv just said:
"thats the called dj to play at olympics, whats this music he s playin? techno?"
and a few appearances...

and since brazil is the "soccer country", we prefer others dutch stars like: johan cruijff or ruud gullit...
