Sorry, I should have said "not true at all in a relationship that has real love".
Don't really know how to explain it. But I can tell you that after 8 years with my bf, knowing what real love is, we wouldn't have made it this far if that were true. |
I agree. I think there is no such thing as loving someone more or less. If you truly love them then you love them and that's it. If you can quantify it then it isn't real love. |

Loooooooove is a chemical reaction and addiction. Norepinephrine and dopamine ("butterflies") at first, then oxytocin ("warm fuzzies") over the long term. If you get addicted, it hurts like crazy to have your favorite chemicals taken away.
Whatever keeps the mammals breeding.
[Was that emo enough?] ;) |

:haha: Nice.
All emotions are chemical reactions... but knowing that fact doesn't make me want to rip someone's balls off any less when I'm really furious with them. |

| It actually helps me a bit. Sometimes when I see two guys about to fight, I picture two angry gorillas grunting at one another and pounding the ground with their hairy fists. |

Well obviously in a relationship like yours the said scenario doesn't apply, since real love is obviously based on equal feelings between the two members, otherwise you're right--it wouldn't last.
It sure explains a lot of what I've seen, though. |

Won't argue with that, as I think it's true for most relationships as well. Even friendships. People are ed up, and at the end of the day I think there are TWO major contributors to why relationships (of all kinds) fail...selfishness, and insecurity. Ok maybe three, dishonesty as well. And that goes for being honest with oneself as well as with the other person.
Insecurity is the root of all those problems, imo. Insecurity breeds so many more ugly attitudes and ways of being, it's not even funny. |

Trying to understand love is like trying to convince someone that God exsits :wtf:
to each their own.
the concept of "true love" is mere speculation. |

Please. Love really isn't that complicated. Anyone who's given or recieved it knows that.
It's describing it that's hard. As it should be. :D |

hehe, the problem with "love" is that people use the word WAAAYYY too often.
It's hard to decipher when someone actually means "love" or extreme 'like' or infatuation or whateverdefuk.
it's also hard to find someone who feels the exact same way about you that you feel about them.
there's always some surrounding circumstance that unhindges the flow. |
