that's been the problem with my past relationships. they weren't willing to work through some trivial that came our way. through thick and thin...that's my motto. it takes a lot to keep me interested, but once i'm there, i'll work through pretty much anything to keep my love/relationip strong...besides the obvious stuff like abuse and/or cheating.

anyway, i'm gonna go cuddle with my dog and fall asleep. he's the only man i need right now. lol

Ahhh. Yeah well there are limits though. I don't think everybody is worth "sucking it up" for. But if you're with someone who you think IS, then then you need to be the water to their rock.

That's what makes love so awesome. Realizing the ebbs and flows of how relationships work. It makes you feel pretty damn good to know you can give love to a person to the point of being unconditional. That's a big feat for a human, imo. Especially when in this day and age, people are so selfish.

I really think love in it's simplest form requires no reciprocation. To me that's a beautiful feeling...to just love somebody. Makes me all gooey inside, heh.

I agree, it's love when the sacrifices and down moments are totally worth it. Sometimes that's tough to find, and there will always be doubts... but I just wait for that moment, where I know deep down that any imperfection, any down side, is completely and 100% ok. I'm not expressing myself well, so I'll let Robin Williams do the rest.

Sean: So if I asked you about art, you'd probably give me the skinny on every art book ever written. Michelangelo, you know a lot about him. Life's work, political aspirations, him and the pope, sexual orientations, the whole works, right? But I'll bet you can't tell me what it smells like in the Sistine Chapel. You've never actually stood there and looked up at that beautiful ceiling; seen that. If I ask you about women, you'd probably give me a syllabus about your personal favorites. You may have even been laid a few times. But you can't tell me what it feels like to wake up next to a woman and feel truly happy. You're a tough kid. And I'd ask you about war, you'd probably throw Shakespeare at me, right, "once more unto the breach dear friends." But you've never been near one. You've never held your best friend's head in your lap, watch him gasp his last breath looking to you for help. I'd ask you about love, you'd probably quote me a sonnet. But you've never looked at a woman and been totally vulnerable. Known someone that could level you with her eyes, feeling like God put an angel on earth just for you. Who could rescue you from the depths of hell. And you wouldn't know what it's like to be her angel, to have that love for her, be there forever, through anything, through cancer. And you wouldn't know about sleeping sitting up in the hospital room for two months, holding her hand, because the doctors could see in your eyes, that the terms "visiting hours" don't apply to you. You don't know about real loss, 'cause it only occurs when you've loved something more than you love yourself. And I doubt you've ever dared to love anybody that much.

thats why u got to get them while theyre young and train them to the way u want them to be. thats why im dating a 21 yr old. for example the other day i was thinking what i need in a girl is to be motivated and ambitious.....hold on...i got a 21 yr old!!!! she can still become motivated and ambitous ITS NOT TOO LATE!

maybe next week ill think "hey i need a girl thatll put whip cream on my balls and yodle like a swede" but i got a 21 yr old i can teach her to do that!!!! i think once a girl has hit a certain age usually 23 whatever they are at that point is the wya theyre going to stay...so you get one younger then that and mold them.

these are wise words guys. liisten to me. IGK may have the right idea

Yeah thats fine but nothing makes me want to rip a guys eyes out as much as when all he does is sit around and play video games. I seriously will have nothing to do with you if you arent responsible.

You know, normally I would say something along the lines of "you are limiting yourself a great deal by adopting that policy" but as it stands, the male video game-playing community is one that is understandably unattractive. :stongue:

It seems to me that you seek a very high degree of dependability in someone you love then? Doesn't sound like love. Sounds like companionship. Or just trying to establish a prudent relationship that would create the optimum environment for compatibility and reproduction. Sounds doomed.

But I'm a child of divorce, so my views are, as everyone's are in some way, quite biased and cynical.

I don't think that love is, on any level, looking for that one trait within somebody else - it's finding it.

/profound nonsense?
