There is no absolute right for this one.
Because of the rhythm the speaker gives it, it usually comes off as a hilarious language. Let's face it, the rhythm is key. Mexicans, I'm generalizing here, give it a cool rhythm that when you hear a Native Speaker (NS) it's as if you're hearing him/her singing. It's hilarious I suppose. I tend to appreciate such rhythm.
Now, can it be sexy? Sure it can, but most of the time for people not speaking the language itself. Some of the students I knew used to find something irresistible about Spanish, specially the accent from Spain. Of course they didn't know that Spain has many different accents as well. That's another story.
Also, it has a lot to do with your gender. If you are a female and you speak Spanish, you talk sexy. If you are a guy and talk Spanish, you're hilarious. I should note that there are exceptions. There are girls who have a thick voice, that may be sexy for some, and there are guys who can talk sexy. But that's going into the person's abilities.
Writing my personal opinion, I say Spanish is sexy. It can also be hilariously sexy or sexily hilarious. It all depends on the speaker and the receptor. |
