Exactly, that's what makes Spanish even funnier! It sounds like a very old kind of Portuguese, but with half of the sounds, three times more dipthongs and speaking a lot more like the way you write :p

:o How can you say that, you people are the one's speaking old spanish :p
Edit: I say because the other day I was reading some old spanish and it reminds of portuguese. It was don quixote i was reading. Also up in galicia, in spain, they have their own dialect and its a lot like portuguese, its like the bastard child of portuguese and spanish, sounds pretty funky. |

hmm... makes sense, what reminded you of Portuguese?
And, as a matter of fact, Portuguese and Galician were considered a single language in the beginning... and, linguitically, I wouldn't say that they're different languages (although now Galician is more and more becoming like Spanish). |
