I think it's a horrible language. It's one of the few languages that I would have absolutley no desire to ever make an effort to learn.

hmm... makes sense, what reminded you of Portuguese?

And, as a matter of fact, Portuguese and Galician were considered a single language in the beginning... and, linguitically, I wouldn't say that they're different languages (although now Galician is more and more becoming like Spanish).

It's the smoother pronunciation of sounds in old spanish that reminds me of portguese. Specially the uses of the x as a sort of sh sound. Modern spanish is a lot more ermmm less smooth for a lack of a better word, when pronounced correctly of course. I think if you ever heard dominican spanish you wouldn't be able to tell it apart from a slurr of words like in french or portuguese.

Having sex and having a girl say "que rico" in her most seductive voice when you first stick it in is, by far, the sexiest thing i've ever heard...

I'd love to hear that - do you know of any on-line Dominican radios that could show me that?

:o How can you say that, you people are the one's speaking old spanish :p

Edit: I say because the other day I was reading some old spanish and it reminds of portuguese. It was don quixote i was reading. Also up in galicia, in spain, they have their own dialect and its a lot like portuguese, its like the bastard child of portuguese and spanish, sounds pretty funky.

You've gotit wrong. Portugese is actually fake Russian. They took all the Russian sounds an mixed them around randomly just to make Russians trip out. When I'm drunk/high and I hear Portugese, I feel like I should understand it but can't... so annoying.
