| not to metnion, our war and intervention there set off a chaos and a series of events that caused 100s of thousands more Iraqis to die because of all the confusion and mess it is there.... that country, and the tri-radical-religion situation they're in NEEDED an iron fist to keep it all together... and maybe those 200 thousand that he killed in his decades of power helped stay away from the crisis and chaos and the current situation we see now (where at the very least, 100 thousand have been killed in just a few years).... how about that? |

if you dont give a about those people, then why take out Saddam Hussein under the pretense of you doing them a favor? why foster democracy and say you're helping them? why "help" them at all? it's views like yours that make it up to the government national level and ruin our country and its foreign policy |

Apparently youre missing the sarcasm, I just look at it this way... if you know they are coming for you, get out of there. Youre gonna loose everything anyway, might as well get out with your life while you can... right?

1. doombot's initial post was sarcasm. funny how a lot of you missed it.
2. war on terror should have been continued in afghanistan, NOT iraq.
3. even bush 41 knew not to invade iraq during desert storm because he foresaw the problems that we're having there now. tried to talk some sense into GW but was apparently rebuffed.

See thats the only way it works, the US trying to be nice and diplomatic wont work and they arent understanding this. On the other hand, if the US were to go in there and try to fix with an iron fist, than all the countries around the world would consider it harsh and unneccessary and would consider it no different from what Saddam was doing.
Its just one of those areas where you just cant do much to help them unless they are willing to help themselves, which doesnt seem to be the case. |
