Anyone who kills a human being is just as much of a murderer IMHO. These are my values. And these are also the values of America's biggest ally, Tony Blair, whose office condemned the execution. |
Blair condemned that action cos its his troops doing the hardwork over in Iraq trying to untie the knots of Bush's "jump in, jump out with evil men as hostage" tactics.
This execution will make Saddam a martyr to his people in time.
Nice one Bush. |

Blair condemned the action because Britain is against the death penalty. |

I believe Bush has similar "excuses" but bottom line is its gonna make his own troops live through more hell now the Sunni's got something to fight for... namely persecution. |

Its no secret that the US was at one time allied with Saddam because of the oil - this is just a continuation of Desert Storm. Clinton had no interest in Bush Sr.'s feuds, so he didnt see the need in continuing it.
I think more people would have respected Bush Jr. if he would have just been honest about the whole thing and said that he wanted to go after radical terrorists, get rid of Saddam and get some oil in the process.
This whole WMD set off an unnecessary chain reaction with Korea and Iran. Its something that could have been handled without all this media intervention. |

No, thats because theres nothing there. We could careless about them being against us, its all about what we stand to gain by probing our noses in someone elses backyard.
In certain cases I find in necessary, or when done correctly and efficiently, but when youre attacking on a whim and improvising in action - than you have issues. |

he killed people or put them in jail if they opposed them (also, that number is exaggerated... all those "mass graves" up in the north might as well have been from the battles of the Iraq-Iran war decades ago, not to mention the mass graves we ourselves are not putting there), just like any dictator... of course its wrong, but if we're going to go after him, what about the other (and worse) dictators in the worldd, who are killing the same, if not, more? why send our boys to die in a country, first justifying it by saying there's WMD, then justifying it by saying democracy would flourish, now you're justifying it by saying we had something to gain there... why?!

oh yeah, because Iraq's government and court isn't just a puppetry scene of our country... learn to have an opinion about something and not be breastfed what you want to hear |
