You should do something to change it.

How is that a double standard? Isn't your legal drinking age 21? They had every right to give you a citation.

I think you're being a little extreme. The law is the law, plain and simple.

I'm surprised young people haven't already taken serious action to lower the drinking age.

Well, Vermont is always on the forefront of liberalism...mind as well start here.

Why the do you get done when you weren't even driving? For all they knew, you might not have even been aware of the fact that your driver wasn't sober. I ing HATE America.

It's a double standard because, being over 18, I am granted plenty of rights and responsibility...yet consuming a beer or a glass of wine leaves me with a ticket.

Agreed. But I do totally understand where she's coming from.

Minors are always going to want to lower the drinking age. There is no need to. I'm sure it's set the way it is for a reason.

You're 20, you just need to be more careful as to what you and and where you do it.

So do I. But this is a typical reaction from anyone who doesn't want to be accountable for their actions. Wah bloody wah.

You live in Toronto where the drinking age is 19. I'm going to assume that your college campuses are composed of kids that are all able to drink.

Here, to split up a campus 50/50 with kids that are over and under 21 DOES NOT WORK. There's no way you're going to keep the under 21 from drinking. So, why is the law trying to swim against the tide? Obviously the drinking age being 21 is not effective.

It's not like I am contesting my ticket. I am admitting what I did was "wrong" in the state of law...I'm expressing my opinion as to why I think it's utterly insane that the US has laws in place if they are not followed by the majority of young people.

What would have happened if you were the right age, and was in the same car of someone who was driving drunk? Would they just send you on your way after arresting the driver, or would you still have to have gone to this clinic place?

I never understood why anyone under 21 would even chance the drinking and driving. Drinking under 21 is easy, you just stay at someone's house or whatever and get ed up. It's when you want to try and be brave that the hits the fan. You lot had it coming.

On a side note, I was piss drunk night with Clovis and had to drive all the way from the club to his house (easily 15 miles or so) and I got pulled over about a block from his house. Luckily they gave Clovis the field sobriety test and not me....even though I was driving :wtf:
