Well I'm used of the 18+ drinking law, but that's besides the point.
Yes, most of the people on my campus were 19, some " right out of HS kids " so they were 18 ish.
I understand your point to a certain extent, but I'm just saying, the drinking age shouldn't have to be changed. when you're legal and you have some youngin' complain to you, you'll see where we are coming from. |

One of my friends is 21. He was arrested as well...I'm not sure what happened to him. They can throw you in the drunk tank if they feel like it, 21 or not.

Just because a law is a law, it shouldn't be assumed that it is completely right and purposeful. I don't like the idea of abiding to a law just because it has been passed by a panel of old men. When you follow blindly, you become an inactive citizen and your government then has the power to abuse your passiveness. There is always room for improvement. |

You're very right, there is a loooooooooot of room for improvement, anywhere. But it is the law, and for now go by it. Are you telling me just because the drinking age is 21+ doesn't mean it's right? I'd rather be following the law rather then end up getting ticket after ticket, but if that's your way of protesting, you go girl! |

that. :haha: I stayed with an American family of one of my friends a few years back. It was full of cliches and unnecessary enthusiasm - I honestly could not have lasted more than the 3 days that I did. It was just the way they had to make comments on everything.
Example - I came down one morning and got a glass of orange juice, and some gimp sitting at the table goes "WOO-HAY! GOOD CALL ON THE ORANGE JUICE!" I don't need that when I've just woken up.

They don't put people in the drunk tank just because "they feel like it". Sure, a lot of cops abuse their power, but throwing a person in the drunk tank is usually for their own good. If you show contempt for the law, whether you think what they're doing is fair or not, they're gonna with you. Any idiot knows that.
I've had many run-ins with police, but since I wasn't a jackass in dealing with them, I never had any problems.

I dunno, looking at things like "girls gone wild", and numerous other drunk college slut scenarios, it's clear to me that underage America needs laws like this. |
