For anyone who has not heard Thomas Datt play b4, here is a link to his set @ Sullivan Room in NYC 12/29/06 which Melly posted in the chillout thread.

[[ LINK REMOVED ]]

Nice set. I love the last tune he played, major classic which brings back memories. I think it's called Seven Cities or something like that.

it's the v one mix but thomas made it better. it is a great song. it is also his alarm clock which scared the fuk out of me.

wow so much going on.

it's cool that mel is pushing this event. i think the promotion of alot of trance events and dj's is really lax. it's important that we know about these things. give it a chance. plus it's her man. any good gf would do this and since she loves trance it's like a two-for!

but it does spread our lil community thin when there is more then one trance event in south florida. doesn't mean we don't wanna be there to support the dj or the music but nobody wants a dui driving from hollywood to miami. another thing is the club's rep. i mean melting dance floors, shootings, stabbings, deaths, event cancellations, toilets that don't flush, broken AC's, etc.
on the other hand, the few trance events i did attend there, it was awesome because of the music!

my hubby and i been supprting the scence for 7 years now but due to some unfortunate medical issues, we can't go out at all (almost a whole year) so a lil house party now and then will have to due. at this time, they rock my world!

have fun & be safe.

heard all of Thomas' mix. Nice set overall, won't get picky. Indeed that remix of Seven Cities is amazing. I love that type of trance. What strikes me is that, excluding the climax, it sounds very much like the remix of Tiesto's - In my memory, which was remixed by V-One!! And I soooooooooooooo omfg love that remix of it. Hence, this is instant tun4ge 4 me!!!! awesome! Mel, when did Thomas edit this specific remix of Seven Cities?????

woooooooo along time ago.

I think he played it when I first saw him in San Fran. That was in April and I know he had done it waaay before that.

He's really picky so he'll edit songs and add things to them so they can fit into his set better. [what he did with Above & Beyonds - Good For Me which is now going to be put as a bootleg mix on vinyl]

I love 7 cities. I think he has video footage on Myspace with that song in the background.

I haven't heard that Tiesto mix you are talking about though. I'd like to check it out though.. PM ~~~~~~~~~>

Solar Stone - Seven Cities ( V One's Living Cities Rmx ) Its my favorite of them all. In fact, its one of my all time favorite trance tunes... ANyone remember Oakenfold throwing this baby on Ultra 3?!?!?! First time I saw so many people going nuts to it... this its also one of George Acosta's tunes, he would play it constantly in the Shadow days... and he also played it at the last Shadow Lounge reunion @ Space... bad ass!! Eager to see what Thomas did to it.. Did he re-do the tune with the V-one's touch to it ??? ...

Carlos.. reason why the Tiesto in My memory sounds a lot like it, it's because it has the same type of build up.

You guys should listen to

V-One - Dead Cities <<<< When I heard this tune been thrown @ Ultra at the Beach for the first time live ( first time I heard it on the gatecrasher CD back in 99 .. ) .. that tune was like a spaceshift was taking off or something, Ariwave in it's alias at it's best.
