:wtf:

People who design and wear clothes like that live in a weird, masturbatory little world of their own.

I have heard that the "nominal" sizes of women's clothing have shrunk over the years, at least in the U.S. -- for example, what used to be a size 6 is now a size 0, and so on. This is because as women grow fatter and fatter on average clothing designers have adjusted their sizes accordingly to be more "flattering."

One example.

U.S. guys' sizes on the other hand still use the old fashioned inch measurements. :p

I wish they would just change womens clothing to regular sizing by inches. I am so sick and tired of having to guess which size I am, and having to try on 349875394875 ing pairs of pants before I realize I am just pissed off and no longer want anything.

I went shopping with my roomie (male), and it was SOOOOOO easy! We looked for measurements, and BAM got the pants he wanted in 5 mins. It takes me at the least 45 mins. Maybe they are TRYING to keep women in the stores and change rooms longer? Who the hell knows... all I know is that it pisses me off, and I don't enjoy shopping that much.

it almost reminds me of a bruno skit in a fashion show and talking with some fashion designers. when i was younger i wanted to be a fashion designer...i'm glad i don't have much interest in it now because of pretentious people like these:

imagne having to deal with them on an almost every day basis. i remember on one episode of antm, some girl was probably a size 4 or 6 and some designer said she was too big to fashion his clothes.

Frenchie I totally see your point, I was thinking the same.

If this thread can bring me to question my weight for even a second when I know that I am at the lower end of the spectrum in reality, then how does it make slightly larger/curvier women feel.

Kinda harsh.

And American is meant to be the fastest country in the world yet the UK doesn't even make clothes that small!

Im baffled!

ahaha you said baffled. ( I love that word ).

I'm a fatass and my legs giggle. My stomach isn't perfectly flat and my arms have wings. My caves are not "slim" they have muscle and I get that from soccer. I'm not at my "supposed to be weight" yet I am healthy. Could I lose some weight? Of coarse. I'm a mofo yoyo! I go up and down constantly without even trying. My curves make me a women and I'm known for them. I'm known for appreciating them as well as embracing them. Do I think all women should be voluptuous? No, it's not for everyone. I love my skinny friends. I just wish skinny women would stop making us feel so bad for actually having a body even if it means packing a few extra pounds. I eat healthy and at times healthier than my friends with the nice bodies. I have a larger frame, blame my German family.

This thread doesn't make me question my weight. I know where I stand even if I stand alone. I just don't like the negativity in this thread when it comes to gaining a few pounds here and there. The thin COr ladies make it seem like it's death to be above 110 pounds, like c'mon are you f'real? Do they look good, hell ya the ladies look amazing but they seem to think that if they were to push it up to triple digits into the 110's then they'd look horrible. Not true, from from it.

Ps- Andrea, thanks for the pics. I didn't know what you were talking about. Those were disturbing pics.:nervous:

As far as attractiveness goes for me:

5' 3": Less than 115 lbs.

5' 8": Less than 130 lbs.

Health is another ballgame.

And there are always exceptions. ;)

Oh rubbish 120-130lb isn't fat, especially on your very tall frame! Heck I think it would barely add very much over you at all. Long as your happy and healthy hon that's all that matters :)

You know, saying such things makes us "meatier" women feel even a little more crappy. :sadgreen:

*- Not totally directed just at you, just women in general. One of the things that piss me off more than a deliberately fat person is a skinny one who is 105 and thinks, "omg I'm fat. Gotta get rid of those 5 pounds now because I look like a meatball". Like you could have been kidding, but regardless it sounds dumb.

i never said i was a fat ass but i worked in a gym for almost 2 years and didn't really worry much about my weight cuz i got to work out whenever i wanted.

but.. i am all for CONTROLLING your weight. Which gaining 9-10 pounds in less than a year is WHY i want to lose 4 pounds and stay at a normal weight.

not cuz i think i am a fatass cuz obviously i am not.

bas ur a fat ass!! remember winter time makes u fat.. Mc fatty!

probably too late for this but I'm a guy and weight 110-112 pounds for a 5'11 dude. The thing is, I've been alwasy rail thin since the age of 7 or 8, and whatever I eat, nothing happens. I can eat Macdonalds 10 times a week and only gain a pound or two max.

Its actually okay, and I make skinny look cool, BTW it's also the "in" look right now from some male designers . Check out his 6'0+ male models being under weight.

I'm so not posting pictures of myself on TA anymore. I used to do that and it always just started crap. A lot of people have met me on this site so they know what I looked like. & I already said, that first picture that was posted is my body size and type... just with bigger boobs.

And I know it's crappy that society wants girls to be so skinny. On one hand everyone bitches about how models shouldn't be so skinny, but then on the other, they only hire skinny girls. [I know b/c I model] The girl who is "average" sized gets trumped by the skinny one every time.
