–noun
1. a woman who engages in sexual intercourse for money; whore; harlot.
2. a man who engages in sexual acts for money.
3. a person who willingly uses his or her talent or ability in a base and unworthy way, usually for money.
Porn stars fall into this category. |
The question one must ask is... if not for commiting the act to film would the production companies still pay these people to have sex? Clearly, they would not. As such, they are being paid to have their image used in a film rather then to simply engage in sexual acts, therefore, what they are being paid for is not sex, argo, not prostitutes.
I think the ultimate answer lies in law.... working in adult films does not qualify as prostitution under the legal definition (in Canada or the US anyway). |

Using Wiki as your source makes for a striking argument. No really. :stongue:
Whether a porn actor/actress is a prostitute or not depends on your definition of prostitute. I severly doubt that people these days simply regard prostitution as a textbook definition like "sexual acts in exchange for money". It's not that simple. |
Ok, let's skip wiki because I think you're right actually.
Giving up your ass in exchange for money is prostitution. I don't need to make a striking argument, since I'm not arguing.
It's not that simple ? Please explain. |

In other words, the textbook definition of the term "prostitute" and what people associate with term "prostitute" when they use it are vastly different. You can't simply lump it into a pigeonhole like this when there are so many variables and circumstances to take into account. |

I can, and I did.
My opinion( and I guess everyone has an opinion) is : sell your ass for money makes you a whore. You can feel free to make sub-categories for porn actors and whatnot.
I do apologise if my statement is not brain-challenging enough on such an important subject matter. |

I like your argument.

I think a prostitutes are forced into that profession, usually to feed there drug addiction, thats why they will screw anything that pays them,
Pornstars are just Nympho's who are looking to make some extra cash doing something they enjoy, |
