do you consider pornstars to be prostitutes? (pg. 9)

not all "prostitutes" are the drug-addicted leather-faced scaries you see on the street corners. there are high-class escorts out there who are still "prostitutes" but cater to a different kind of folk and charge a lot more money... but they're still selling sex.

and not all porn stars are the same class of people either. some companies require major background checks and frequent STD tests and are very professional about everything. other low-rate budget films probably get away with sketchier stuff... i'm sure we've all heard stories of porn stars ending up with STDs, getting raped/harassed on set, etc...

either way, pretty ed up career choices... but someone's gotta do it. :wtf:

Actually, the technical reason escort services are allowed to operate is that they "charge for company"...no paying for sex...the girl "has a choice. It is this wonderful loophole that gets it categorized as something other than solicitation...solicitation is what sends you to jail.

Porn stars do get stds as nothing is full proof, but even with the low budget films...if they do not have records of age as well as test results. The film cannot be distributed and is illegal. Check closely if you ever watch porn how they always have an address with a custodian of records. There is also a blacklist for those who have gotten an std.

so is the only difference between prostitutes and porn actors the fact that a camera is present (or that they are doing it for show)? If so, it's kinda strange that the one that is illegal is the most private one, and the legal act is the most obvious one.

Of course it's "strange". And it's only in the USofA.

In Canada, Europe, and Australia, prostitution is legal. and even in South America

About as predictable a response as I'd expect from HardTranceProd - runs like a wristwatch.

And as far as I know, Prostitution isn't legal on the entire continent of Europe.

Sweden, Norway, Finland, and the UK are the only exceptions ;)

prostitution is not legal in Canada. Also illegal in Australia and most of Europe too. Sometimes it might be "tolerated $$$" but I am very curious as where you got that fuming pile of midget for facts:haha:

prostitution is totally legal on craigslist.org, and that is international!

Au contraire, the act of prostitution is fully legal in Canada behind closed doors between consenting adults (e.g. with an escort in a hotel). However, solicitation or advertising are prohibited.

Europe has brothels in most cities, like Prague. Cologne and Frankfurt have 5-story brothels in the center of the city.

You post a wink emoticon as if by making this post you were initially completely in the right asserting that it was legal on the entire continent, as well as in two countries where it is not.

Way to get me

What are you talking about? It is not legal in Canada or Australia. To my knowledge the only European countries where it is legal are Netherlands, Germany and Denmark. I have no clue about South America but I'm willing to bet (in light of the strength of the Catholic church) it's illegal in all or most South American countries.

So it's illegal then. What you do behind close doors is your own business. I roll huge blunts behind my closed doors, but it's still illegal.

"the act of prostitution" still consists of selling your self..and that's illgal.
