I couldn't ing beeeeelllieeeve the sounds coming out of those speakers either! That place was being torn apart from the speakers out... like dirty pounding deep filthy rape sex! I needs to start finding me some music like that... Damn my heart aches to think what it would be like to play on the Guv soundsystem... must be one of the best experiences for a dj!
I found it kinda wierd that they were playing house in like every room. I really didn't mind getting lost through all the rooms. Always found more cool friendly people. Wasn't planning on going, too many drinks to count by midnight, remember getting in for free.
Mostly remember the sound in mainroom more than anything... just friggin mindblowing! :eyespop:

I really didn't feel like dealing with the Guv on a long weekend so i stayed in Skybar from the time it opend till it closed and as sketchy as it was and as dirty as it got i absolutely loved it I had such a good time the locals all brought their A game and deliverd solid sets all around ... ofcourse Nathan was my fav :toothless .... danced as much as could but i was pretty beat after C&C i hate sitting through a sick tarck cuz my legs are killing me :(
As for lawler he started out really BLAH! for the like the 1st 45min witch to be honset i didn't mind gave me some solid sitting time and rest :toothless but boy did he ever pick it up to finish i was just like wow awesome tarck a sketchy mix here and there but overall i loved it :D IF SOMEONE CAN ID THE 3RD LAST TRACK HE PLAYED I'LL LOVE YOU FOREVER !!! ( it's the one that basicaly was just a consistant electroy grinding noise )

I left at 6am. 5 hours is enough for me.
Can't believe I missed such a great set. I was there for Lawler's opener but the warm up guy was so boring that by then I was ready for bed.

really bipolar night for me but overall i think going was a good call

i got there at about 12:30.. i'm starting to notice that at any guv event i can never really get into any sets for the first few hours because of the crowdedness and having to meet up with people etc.. but i did manage to stay in the orange room for most of sydney blu and i loved it. the music in the drink was different but pretty cool, i had never heard any of the DJs before but i enjoyed some of the pop remixes, especially the rocky one i heard at one point haha. i guess people wanted something harder for the sunrise set, but the slow and trippy style was what got me interested in lawler in the first place...
the crowd was the worst i had ever seen at guv, and not talking about the quantity either... i had never seen any fights there before but i saw THREE this time... good thing it ended when all the drunk people started to clear out. more rude people in general too, but it was good seeing familiar faces and meeting some friendly TAs as well
i had really good and bad luck losing things all night. first i lost my brand new camera and flipped out looking for it, then miraculously this really nice girl comes up and says she found it and saw pictures of me on it and gave it back :D and then i went to get my sweater i coat checked for skybar, only to be looking for my ticket for about half an hour until it showed up in the most awkward place possible in my wallet. after my cz initiation i noticed my necklace disappeared too at some point.. but sadly my luck ran out and it didn't turn up :(
and that steve lawler quote was the funniest thing i've heard this month, i wish i had recorded it! :haha:
