What do you guys think about this 'Ghetto Dude' story about this black U of T student who got an e-mail from queens park (I dont know if this was sent to him by accident..?) about his job application where the writer referred to him as 'ghetto dude'?

like yeah its inappropriate and the guy deserves an apology and all, but i think the media is making way too big a deal about this, acting like he is a suffering victim....

It says that all the media are lining up for interviews with this guy....?

and everyone is offering jobs to this 'victim' of racial harassment...?

last time i checked 'ghetto dude' wasnt the most offensive word in the dictionary.... and the guy is being a bit of a cry baby about it, "and still feels "remarkably unsatisfied," as he put it, by the sense that senior government bureaucrats are "trying to minimize this incident" by referring to Aileen Siu, the employee involved, as inexperienced and a recent graduate."

minimize this incident? so some idiot uses a mildly offensive term.... accept the apology, realise the person is probably socially retarded, and get over it!

anyways, maybe i am just an ... what do u guys think?

Kinda offensive, pretty funny, definite overreaction.

I dont know 1 black guy who uses the word 'dude' ever....so calling a black guy 'ghetto dude' doesn't seem to make too much sense.

its like emailing an asian guy and saying "s'up bredrin"...

a slow day for the media i guess.

hahah thats the thing... its not just a slow day for the media.... this is the 2nd say this story has made the news... and like not some back page article, it was one of the main stories on the star website both days....

so they actually think that this is a big deal hahahaha, i'm guessing its mainly because of the fact that the 'insult' came from someone working at queens park, and because of how racially sensitive everyone is trying to be now

+1

I've seen and heard much worse things, not about the 'African Americans', but in general.

We all know he's going the job now, because they don't want be looked down upon and appear racist.

We don't know the entire context either, maybe he showed up to his interview all sloppy looking and actually appeared Ghetto and since he's a dude..."Ghetto Dude" is appropriate.

Damn people making a big deal out of things!

In Canada it definately pays to play the role of the victim. This is typical.

What kind of world do we live in where whiners and the undeserving are rewarded simply for being victims? People want to give this a job? him I say.

edit: Ok ok, I just read the article...and it says he's been "lauded for his dignity"?? You've got to be ing kidding me.

Ahahahahaha, that made it even funnier. sensitive cunts who get their panties in a bunch over everything. them even more if they expect to be reimbursed for "being a victim". Parasites.
