I don't care whether it's dead or alive...I don't like it so I don't listen to it...It was OK in and around 93 when vocal house started pissing me off but once Sasha and Digweed got involved with PVD,,AVB and to some extent BT,, it killed the whole vibe...Trance became mainstream and you can thank S and D for that...
Trance was originally down tempo with spooky vocals,,moody basslines,,dramatic strings and theatrical sound effects...From then on it became known as epic house and then to the cheesy bull that children love today...
In the early nineties Sasha and Digweed used to fill dancefloors with the Babelicious parties in Sussex..However by the mid nineties they were emptying dancefloors with their Northern exposure parties..They admitted that they dissappeared up their own s and went back to playing house...
Trance is just a stepping stone and you will grow out of it just like my daughter grew out of hard house when she was five...
There's an old saying in England,,,"American Trance is Like American cars,,,don't buy either"... |

there's so much more than American trance, you know)
I'd say there are not many trance djs in America nowdays...
so, I believe firstly u gotta try smth else, just to urself, just to compare)
Suomi trance is on top, nowdays, but as I said, don't like dark that much. |

I loved the albums,,,it was the Northern exposure nights that were ...Don't forget,,the albums were released on MOS..The albums were a totally different sound from the parties..They were experimenting with new sounds and didn't really give a what the clubbers thought..They used to play really hard and then all of a sudden they started trying to take us on some epic musical journeys that we didn't wanna go on...In the end they had to bring in other promoters to try and bring the people back and the parties back to life..S and D sucked for like two years..Also you were talking about the equivalent of fourty bucks to go and see 'em back in the early 90's and if you weren't dressed in designer gear,,you couldn't get in... |
