The mountains in Switzerland are AMAZING... this Grindelwald ski area was HUGE, we kept finding lift after lift after lift and different areas, so many secluded through the woods ways to go, and so few people, it was amazing.
Unfortunately, I've heard POWDER POWDER POWDER from so many people about Whistler and even Vermont this year, but here it wasn't that great, not enough snow this winter and hard trails, it's a layer of ice under a hard surface basically, plus the slopes were challenging for me.... but definitely worth the scenery, the most amazing views I've ever seen...

Aaaaand the last news is that unfortunately Alisa's illustrious Swiss boarding career is OVER for at least the next few weeks because I hurt something in my knee that day, haven't been to the doctor but I fear it's a sprained or partially torn ligament of some sort... luckily I don't think it's an ACL injury, it's not that bad. I can't bend my knee the whole way but it's getting a little better every day....
So I'm back to exploring Switzerland by car and foot... luckily there are so many other beautiful things here besides mountains for boarding. :) |

that's not unusual. The quality of snow in the US is generally better than in europe. everyone that's been to both says it. it snows more frequently, and out west - especially in utah, montana, and wyoming - the snow has a low water content (light fluffy powder). Europe might have the dramatic vistas, long runs, and numerous steep slopes, but the US has what matters, GREAT SNOW!! |

Went to camelback yesterday for the first time. I just bought a new snowboard package so i had to test it out. Camelback is a nice place, but the conditions were y. Ice all over the place, not groomed at all. Bumps were freaking crazy. I ate it twice because of the stupid ass bumps. Im hurting today.
It was worth for $22 though..:D |

i refuse to go to camelback! went there once & never will again. i went to okemo mountain in vermont a few weeks ago & loved it. slopes were better than i expected. going back jan 30th for a week & hopefully hunter mountain before then. my friend just moved to colorodo & said the slopes out here are NUTHiNG compared to out there so i will def be making a trip out there shortly :D |

go to utah before colorado; utah is no joke. alta/snowbird is probably the best "resort" terrain in the US (although i'm partial to Squaw Valley). i'm only going to colorado in two weeks because i've been to utah 3 times in 4 years. |

| Vail blows (i went today on a locals recommendation - probably to reduce the crowds on better slopes) - at least i had a foot of new pow to play in. I've been on steeper slopes back east, the ticket price was much steeper than the slopes: 92 dollars! breck is tomorrow. |

Breck is a nasty resort. Much steeper than Vail. There are tons of great tree runs. Anyone heading out to Colorado should definitely check out Breck. My one complaint was that it actually snowed too much and the park was too slow so i couldn't clear the transitions on the jumps (maybe its time for a waxing). But this weekend was a pretty good colorado excursion.
Not the most scenic or amazing pictures, but it's all i have (breckenridge - disregard the date, they were taken yesterday):
