Which resort on hood? i assume you mean timberline. Given timberline doesn't close until the end of august it's not really a surprise. When exactly does it open? End of october?

Anyone been to Whistler Blackcomb? I'm going there for the first time(my first west coast snowboarding trip ever) and I wanted some first hand accounts. I'm going to be on the slopes form the 5-12 of Jan

I never got into the whole listening to music while snowboarding thing.... I like to hear the snow when I'm going down in case it's a little icey(like I said... never been out west so this may not be an issue out there)... plus I want to be able to hear if people are near me so I don't turn into someone and can't hear them behind me...ditto if I'm going down a trail w/ ppl and they yell to stop for someone or whatever...

check out the link to the 2006 thread, a bunch of us have been there. 3 times myself. it's by far the best resort in NA.

tip, if you haven't purchased the plane ticket yet, fly into Seattle (if you're going with others). you'll save about 2-3 hundred each on the tickets, and you need to rent a car anyway.
