I might have my own dates to contend with (maybe arrive later or leave earlier etc, depending) but that basic time frame (after New Years to mid-Jan) sounds good to me. It works since I'm planning on being in Switzerland somewhere from Dec 23-Jan 2 or so, where I would make sure to definitely get a few days of boarding/skiing in on the Alps.  So if this all happens, what a month it'll be for me ... :eyespop:  :eyespop:

alright well i tentatively have jan 4-14th on my calendar for the whistler trip. sounds like you'll have a crazy month heh im so jealous!

let me know what ur plan is so i can figure out the finances. i think im trying to do 4 or 6 total on this trip because once it gets large, money credit cards and timing become an issue. so far i have 2 or 3 semi-confirmed. not sure if any other D&Ds are going to make it but i plan on booking before the end of october. most likely going through whistler.com for a resort style hotel/lodge that's close to the village.

think i want to do a day or two in vancouver, maybe party it up if someone is in town. and of course stop by DaKine to smoke and take some pictars! anyways, let's meet for dinner to discuss...wed/thurs next week i'm avail...call me!

Sal is horrible at thread starting! lol

Anyways, anyone have any recommendations for purchasing a snowboard rack? I need places with discounts not so much branding as I plan on going with Yakima, just want to know how much of a discount I can get.

I'm priced out at $427 right now, could use more of a discount if anyone can help out!

Appreciate it!

sorry bro, no help here. i just throw the board in my back seat. It kind of helps that i only go boarding with one other person.

the only thing i can add is that perhaps you shouldn't limit yourself to yakima, thules are decent racks. I had one for the longest and it never failed.

QFT - I love being on a nice run where you can actually time your turns to the beat. Great feeling.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a new board for my girlfriend? Her old board got lost by movers this summer. She's little (5') and just an intermediate rider. All-mountain, she's not into the terrain park. Thanks.

honestly, it probably doesn't matter which board she gets if she's not looking for high performance in any particular area. Your best bet is to just go for something middle-of-the-road price wise. personally, i love Ride snowboards; you can't go wrong just getting a ride solace or rapture. However, she will be fine with almost any name brand board (Ride, Burton, etc...).

Good luck

alright so i went ahead and just ordered a yakima rack

came out to 460 with taxes and delivery, not that bad I guess since the retail was 499 pre-tax/ship so I guess I saved about $100 or so.

Either way it's going on as soon as I get it...

patiently waiting for snow...tap tap tap

Actually now that you mention it, the mix that i listen to is mostly trance. Actually the guy who put it together is on this message board. It gives me the musically inspired courage to do jumps and tricks that I am nowhere near talented enough to actually pull off... so far nothing broken, only incredibly sore muscles bruises and scrapes :)

it doesn't matter if you can actually pull it off, what matters is if others think you've pulled it off.

If you land on your ass, but you can ride it out, you've really landed the trick if every else thinks you have. ;)
