| tell me you didn't see it coming. I expect him to put lampard in on crutches too and then stick gerrard out wide cos it's the kind of he'd pull. Mclaren is an oaf and until he's out of a job (and hopefully we don't put someone like trevor brooking in charge) then we won't progress to the next level which is the one we need to be at to compete against the big 5 or 6 nations |

I've tickets for the Russia game and if Heskey is named in the starting line-up, I've a good mind to ask for my money back!
Surely Lita is a similar player and better. |

he's been alright for wigan recently hasn't he?
it kinda makes sense with rooney out & owen in instead, him & heskey have a fair bit of experience playing together |

| its bad enough he's picking owen like he's some sort of messiah! my dead grandmother is closer to match fitness than he is. and then to pick the donkey to compliment him is the final insult. i might be english but i'm supporting whichever team we play against until that joke of a manager gets sacked. |

we're becoming a joke.
part of me doesnt want us to qualify for 2 reasons.
1) so the FA are forced to sack the useless twat
2) we dont show ourselves up next summer and i dont waste 3 weeks of my summer sat in the pub hoping for some miricle to happen like i do every 2 years.
ive got more faith in scotland and the two irelands getting to the finals |

| heskey has actually been in good form but this move by mclaren shows signs of desperation hes putting anyone in the team in hope they will do something. the thing that made me laugh most was alan smith in the england squad he consistently plays for england and i think james should play i think hes been the best keeper in england for the last year or so. |

To be fair, I'd rather have Heskey in there than some of these so-called 'wonder-kids' Rooney, Cole, Carrick, Lampard who don't do anything, and just ponse around and do 'naff all.
Gerrard, Owen and Beckham are the only 3 that deserve to be in the squad in my opinion.
What needs to happen is for performance-related pay to be introduced. I'm sick of seeing these twats earning £90,000+ a week, and being given the honour of putting on an England jersey and doing sod all, followed up by interviews of "you can't take any team for granted on the international scene anymore".
We could have the best manager in the world and still have a crap team. Why the heck can't the players take some initiative for once.
Players are overpaid, end of. McClaren isn't the best manager, and I'd rather he wasn't there, but the best manager in the world couldn't make this England squad any good. |
