The RC church has always made it policy to hold miricals and possessions to the highest standard of proof. The vatican employes a great many priests as investigators of such things. Their first goal is to disprove the claimed supernatural event, only if that cannot be done will they consider that it may truely be supernatural. The reason for this is quite simple... they want to be certain that anything deemed a mirical cannot be disproven by someone else after the church has officially sanctioned it as miraculous. |
