David Copperfield Makes THOUSANDS of people believe they saw something that really DID NOT happen.
David Blaine is alright too...
Hypnosis is also very popular.
And MASS HYSTERIA/MOB MENTALITY is a leading factor in many 'farces'.
"crop cirlces' were the HOAX of the century until some dudes finally admitted how they did it, and how copy cats did it.
People are dumb. They believe what they THINK they saw and swear it as FACT. I don't blame them, why would one dispute their memory??? but I don't have to belive them. |

Even if this Ouija board did magically spell out a diagnosis, there were 6 months between the supposed prediction and the actual occurrence. How much time has to elapse for you not to rule out coincidence?
If he had been diagnosed a year later... could that be a coincidence? What about five years? 10 years? 50 years, as an old man? Would you consider the possibility of a coincidence if it had happened to one of his friends or family members instead of him?
It sounds like these folks spent a lot of time using the board and making predictions. How many predictions did they make, and how many didn't come true?
All you've (sort of) convinced us of is a bizarre coincidence, not a supernatural phenomenon. What I think I see is a pretty standard natural phenomenon: counting the "hits" and discounting the "misses", even when the latter vastly outnumber the former. |

I guess than one should stop believing in God in general and convert in Atheism.
Because modern science and technology cant prove the existence of God or show any form of its presence, anyone can write a book and pretend its a holy book and make set of rules, guidelines and call it religion. |

You are correct... That's why scientlogy popped up last century.
Again...HONESTLY...I'm not knocking anyone with a faith in the divine.... Im more Agnostic than Athiest...but with all the diverse faiths out there how can people accept possesion ??? I am not a religion scholar....so I am unaware of the notion that maybe Taoism or Hinduism or Buddhism have doctrines on 'possession' or 'exorcism'...
Since you created the thread... I ask, aside from videos and 'first hand stories' of 'demonic possesion' have you any further insight on this phenomenon from the perspective of different faiths and their 'divine texts'.
I noticed a muslim girl possessed in the video. Was her exorcism an islamic exorcism ??? or a christian exorcism ?? were the egyptian exorcism coptic or roman catholic ???
again I don't mean to come across as combative, I just have a dozen questions from a dozen perspectives because of my lack of faith in the basic concept of "God VS. Devil, Heaven VS. Hell, Good VS. Evil"
* I find ALL of those terms TOTALLY SUBJECTIVE, to me there is no objective good or evil, heaven or hell*
Its asking a lot but don't just provide me with a link to an internet site because I don't have the time nor desire to check sources. Iam asking YOUR opinion to my questions.
*edit: I'd go away but i like electro house too;) * |

Well as I said earlier when I quoted your post there are some things you just cant prove with modern science and technology, now some people would believe it and some dont for whatever reasons they might have.Personally Im not a hardcore muslim,I dont pray 5 times a day or anything but I still believe in it from religious point of view.
Yes the muslim girl exorcism was Islamic exorcism and there are tons of videos on Youtube of similar types. Its faith and people believe in it,you cant prove anything beyond showing it on camera and having audio for the event.
Well as you said your views on this totally subjective and I personally respect that and of anyone who posted their personal views in this thread thats why I mentioned few pages back that lets not bash eachother and respect what each and everyone is saying " To each their own "
P.S :- Long live Electro house ;) |

nice post. at the time its impossible to prove existance of god but at the same time theres no proof that he doesnt exit. just keep in mind, somebody said that people will never be able to fly, that a computer will be so huge and expensice that there's gonna be only 5 of them in the world and so on...
we need to evolve much more just to understand.
when it comes to exoricism i personally believe that it happens from time to time. i read a lot on that subject, id gladly translate some things for you, if interested. in vatican they keep records of 7 proven cases of posession. no mental ilness, no seisures.
what's your opinion on stigmata??? |

People will believe the priest's words simply because they trust him blindly. So how is your case any different from theirs ? Gimme a break.
I offered perfectly logical explanations. They are much better than your ghost theory. Why ? Because you can think, debate or improve upon them or reject them. But you can start a process of investigation, unlike crying out "ghosts!!" which incidentally is not an explanation at all. It leaves you with more questions than answers. You don't believe in mass hallucinations. But believe in ghosts. It's just your belief. There is no other basis for you to reject my point of view whatsoever.
Dunno if you have read it, if not please do read this paper : The Case of the Ghost in the Machine.
Interested ? Read the paper to find out more. This paper was published in the Journal of the Society for Psychical Research Vol.62, No 851 April 1998. |

remember there are many things I still havent mentioned...I was very interested in this place but barely went cause it was too eerie and def. did not do ouiji...btw hits: 3, misses:0..major hits 2...the fact remains the guy who had leukhimia had absolutely no idea about it until 6-7 months after, did not even feel sick or any till 6-7 months after..not even a suggestion of it...an EXTREMELY bizarre coincidence? maybe...or just an excuse for modern science's inability to explain- also possible. |

Oh yeah...Then i suggest you watch an award winning documentary called "Crop Circles: Quest for truth"...It is sooo interesting, not cheezy at all...First of all, it does not support the idea that they're made by "aliens" and the documentary of course acknowledges that many crop circles are man made. However, there are certain rare, complex, crop cicrcles with mathematical meanings that the well respected scientists in this documentary could not ignore, and decided to explore them further. There is also footage of these balls of light shown it the documentary(that scientists think are some sort of energy, an unexplained phenomenon that might have something or a lot to do with these complex ground patterns). In demonstrations, human teams have struggled, without success, to reproduce designs as geometrically complex as those seen in fields. Certain formations have appeared within one night; the short amounts of time, the geometric calculations, and the methods of bending and weaving the plants are clearly beyond human capabilities, even some of the best hoaxers have admitted to it. Also, in the man made crops, the scientists have found that the crops are broken once in their bended positions, but in the "unexplained" crop circles, the crops are not broken at all, they are perfectly bended into one another in a complex pattern, without any broken crops whatsoever...I suggest to watch this documentary bc it is sooooo interesting, i really enjoyed it, even if you don't believe anything the theory suggest, I think you'll still find it very interesting to watch. |
