sure it's his imagine tour but i'm sure he'll be pumping most of his productions through the entire set. I dunno about the new album, it's suprising how cheesey he has become. wtf:conf: |

going wrong is what armin's productions are doing.
in worst song of the year.
i like vocal stuff if it's done well (like old vocal armin)... but yeah: i'm sure he can't play 9 hrs of the new album :p
i can put up with a few crap songs here'n'there :D |

I'm seriously considering We Love Sounds instead. Lots of varied acts I've never seen before for the same price, rather than just one guy for 9 hours.
Already seen Armin a few times and he's getting worse (much worse), not better.
Then again...it's Armin.
Atmosphere will be infinitely better than Sounds; can't beat ol' Melbourne Park. :gsmile: |

Armin has dropped his standards. Doesnt have to try anymore. He was so good along time ago (Gatecrasher Summer Sound System with Scott Bond).
Having said that, going with some friends to see what he is like live these days ( havent seen him since 2003) but like many trance djs his tracklist would probably consist of his name only. armin only. |

Hard to compare Armin productions with his sets... Armin is a mediocre producer at best, he's a good remixer but first and foremost he's an excellent live DJ. He doesn't cram his sets full of his own productions as much as others, however what will probably suck is that he will play out most of "Imagine" so you have to listen to some tracks! |

ah the people's dj has gone to the ter.
We saw it with Tiesto, we saw it with Oakey, and even PVD.
So it begs the question, are they succumbing to market pressures (ie. if they stick to doing something new and refreshing will they lose out financially and popularity?) or do they just have too much money now to care or put in an effort ("Let's just put my name on a cd, who cares how crap it is, and I'll still rake it in")?
There really should be an expiry date on "superstar" djs or at least something to suggest if you've been at the top for 2-5 years and you're not offering anything new then step down and let the new guys breed some life into the industry.
Don't get me wrong, I'd be the first to buy a ticket if it was a "classics" night but damn if their latest stuff is badly flavoured pop then it's time to try something new, IMO. |
