| I'm new to this site and new to the whole production thing as well. So I really don't know to much about it, so forgive me for asking this... Anyways... I want know why everyone hates Fruity Loops so much? I'm not trying to defend it or anything. I just want to know WHY its not the best tool for producing. I've listened to some people's tracks that were made on FL and they didn't sound bad to me. Maybe I'm not listening for the right thing... I really don't know... I just want somebody to clear this up for me. Also, what software might you recommend for the PC. I wish I had an apple, but I'm just to damn poor. |

It's just that i've met people that wont take the music seriously just because it was made on FL.
Personally I use it right now just because thats all I can afford. I just dont get why it's not considered as good as any other program. |

| I like FL, but I dont have any extensive experience with other programs. Some people claim that FL's audio engine is not as good as say Cubase, I dont know whether thats true or not. |

Its just plain bull my friend. Its just as hard to produce good music in FL as in any other host. Even harder.
Aaaas said... a thouuuusand times earlier. Its not the program, its the person using it. |

I still remember Dark Soho listening to one of my tracks some time ago, and the first thing he said, Cubase?

I was speaking to Steve Hill when hew was in Perth last year and he said most of his work is done in Fruity Loops. Technikal and D10 apparently do the same.
Realistically most software do the same job (except for recording capabilities) it's just a matter of what u prefer. To me though Fruity's is just too well...... FRUITY!!! |

Unless you want to run Logic, which is only available on the Apple Macintosh platform, there is really not going to be any difference in DAW software between PC and Apple. |

I bet they'll do a complete skin change in version 8. |

Heh, reminds me of a thread on the Ableton forum about 64bit vs. 32bit, where a bunch of morons were arguing that you can't get a "professional sound" (God I love how overused that catch-line is) with 32bit audio.
Robert Henke came into the thread at one point and bitch slapped them; was rather amusing.
I've heard amazing in FL, amazing in Reason, amazing in Ableton, Logic, Cubase, Buzz, the list goes on. I've heard awful crap from all of the above as well. Don't believe what some morons spout off as fact when it comes to how capable a DAW is when it comes to EDM; most of it comes down to your workflow and personal preference. |

im sorry if this offends anyone, but the way i see it is; eventually the users of fruity will have to change a to another DAW. I mean how many well known producers use fruity loops in comparison to lets say logic. I believe Logic is the industry standard for EDM, im not saying good quality tracks cant be made with fruity (although you would have to get after market plugins). I have done the change from fruity to logic and honestly within a week i believe that my tracks were sounding better.
Producing with fruityloops is like doing a magazine cover with MS PAINT instead of photoshop. It can be done, although it shouldn't be |
