considering the amount of tomatoes italians use in their cooking...the men must be at a really low risk of developing prostate cancer (says Dr.Oz):D

I have to admit that when I was younger that used to appeal to me. I was so influenced by what I saw on T.V and the music I listened to without even realizing it. Luckily I woke up one day.

Ghettos of Philly was mentioned on this thread; have a look at this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8FDEoMyjcOE

Cleveland was down to 70 something homicides per year about 6 years ago but it has increased nearly 100% to almost 140 homicides for the year 2007.

If you have the chance to catch "The Wire" on HBO, you should watch it. Baltimore has a higher homicide rate than Philly. Maybe only Detroit is worse. A drive through the city anywhere other than the inner harbor (or a walk through if you are brave enough) is quite a humbling experience. This is the heroin capitol of the world.

Crime has been escalating for the last 6 years or so, returning to levels not seen since the early to mid 90s in some cities.

but some people are still weirded out by the proximity of it
and we did have a rapist in the area too, but it was closer to York's property

My GF went for an interview at a daycare just outside of parkdale and the person interviewing her noted that there were over 100 sex offenders living in parkdale.

Now don't know how accurate that number is, but if it is accurate (or only 50%) that scares me more then crackheads......

wow first post in a LONG TIME
RobotHouse
i live in parkdale and it is a pretty damn sketchy area but for the most part harmless in terms of being actually hassled walking down the street at 4am

then again i have a built in metal window shutter that was installed before i moved in. i have yet to test its bullet resistant capabilities.

Oh i live at King/Duffy and i see a lot of crazy crackheads and such (prolly let out from CAMH) but do you think you could spot a sex offender walking down the road?

More on topic of this post, i walk around King/Duffy at all times and a I never had an issue.

the weirdest thing i ever saw was a dude dancing on the street with a toilet lid in one hand and the seat around his neck.

That sounds like the work of Kevin Clarke, who lives (or stations himself) around my work at King/Strachan

here is some vids of him:
