Got home about an hour ago from the race (went straight from track-airport-Adelaide)
You have no idea how hot it was in the stands, bloody ridiculous. And then all the bars and food shops ran out of water which just amde things even worse....
Anyway, Nico!!!!!:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
Barrichello has been DQ'ed too so Nakajima, Bourdais and Raikonnen are all promoted, so 1 point for Kimi now, 2 for Bourdais, 3 for Kaz.
Kaz is a one man wrecking machine. Hopefully he settles down soon cos he does have genuine pace, he's just so erratic behind the wheel.
Fisichella's interview straight after the crash was hilarious too, dunno if it was broadcast anywhere (I think it was a local reporter so hence the stupid questions) but:
What happened?
"A lunatic ran into the side of me"
How much damage?
"Well I'm out of the race!"
My seats were amazing, on the outside of turn 2 so we could see ~50 metres of the main straight, turn 1, turn 2 and part of the run towards turn 3. Yes, it means we had perfect seats for all the carnage that unfolded at turn 1, bloody hell it was outta control some of the stuff we saw. |

My comments on an F1 forum...
| quote: | Lewis - deserved complete domination win. I was already thinking of how similar it had been to his Canada win and then he said it in the press conference.
Heikki - not as quick as Lewis but relatively solid, did well to trick Kimi and did an AWESOME final pass on Alonso - but if he really hit the pit speed limiter on the main straight... :haha:
Massa - that turn 1 incident was really pathetic. I also got the idea that the crash with DC was his fault although that might be a bit debatable. I liked his pass on Nakajima(?) at the quick chicane. Overall, bad race.
Kimi - was doing an absolutely awesome race until he risked too much and outbreaked himself trying to pass Heikki. From there on, it was like he was driving on drugs, the complete opposite of until then. Terrible.
Ferrari's strategy - Hire someone new.
Ferrari's reliability - Let's not go there.
BMWs - a bit disappointing, looks like they're great on qualy pace but not really anything special in the race. Kubica didn't do an awesome race but didn't deserve to get wrecked by Nakajima like that. Heidfeld was, well, Heidfeld-style. Got a great result without ever looking fast.
Barrichello - great race, but the safety car blew it.
Alonso - a true champion performance in a crap car.
Bourdais - great debut, he must've sweared a lot when his engine went off. However Fisichella must've been pissed by that first corner incident.
Red Bull - must be very pissed with the way people took their cars as a target to push off from the race.
Glock's accident - scared the out of me at first sight. But it was more spectacular than really any serious/dangerous. Driver mistake.
Trulli - let's not forget he did a good race. Another guy who didn't deserve his car playing reliability tricks with him.
Piquet - Piss poor, pure Mazzacane style.
Rosberg - Congratulations on the first podium. Looked solid. |
When I wrote this I thought Bourdais had caused that first turn crash with Fisichella, but it now seems like the "kamikaze driver" was Piquet. |

WOW!
ITV will no longer broadcast F1 after this season. The BBC is once again awarded the contract. ITV still had 2 years left on the their deal, so why the switch?
Very Interesting. Hopefully BBC has somebody good lined up for the top caster job. |

Murray Walker and James Hunt back in the day. Then it was Murray and a bunch of other people. Brundle only joined once he got out of the car which was around the same time ITV took over and signed Murray to be the lead commentator.
Hopefully BBC signs Brundle and James Allan. Great coverage by those two and hopefully I can then watch it in English here instead of Dutch :) |

| Most of the BBC team went over to ITV when they took over, including the commentary team. I imagine they'll just swap back. At least I hope this is the case because F1 without Brundle and Allan won't be the same. |
