For the record Sasha uses Ableton Live....
Fat Boy Slim recently switched to Serato
not sure about the others....
but Mix Master Mike, and Jazzy Jeff use Traktor Scratch
I use Traktor 3.3.1
Serato is very reliable and totaly stable....
but if you tweak your system properly Traktor is the bees knees |

I own Torq, and have never used Serato, so I can't really pass judgment.
But I did do extensive research on this subject before buying Torq, and the bottom line seems to be that if price is most important to you, get Torq, and if you'd rather have the de-facto standard, go with Serato.
It's like choosing between a Technics 1200 or one of the many competitors. |

| If he's going to drop that kind of money, he should get Serato. I've heard quite a lot of complaints about Traktor Scratch being a rather unstable resource hog, but I can't confirm that for myself. What's for sure is that everyone who uses Serato swears by it... |

I have used Serato in clubs, and very frequently live on the radio.
It has never had anything bad happen besides one time at a small party but that was essentially caused by me doing something stupid (Serato did actually keep playing the track and eventually unfreeze itself though).
But I am looking at selling it soon because I am interested in getting a korg zero4 and along with traktor scratch. |

i own torq and ive gigged with serato,
serato is extremely stable, does the job...love it
been hearing trash about torq, but the only real issue ive had was a low buzzing sound.. other than that its great, tested teh out of it.
i figure some people dont like torq's interface and how cluttered it is, , i have no problem with it.
Serato has less going on and its industry standard.
i think the descision is upto the user... and what it is going to be used for.
if i dont make sense its because i had a long day and im exhausted. |
