Review: Deadmau5 and James Zabiela @ Guv

Party's still going strong...wasn't feeling Zabiela so I left early.
Wow, Deadmau5 totally delivered. Ripped the Guv a new arsehole. Bomb after bomb. New lighting totally kicked ass and it almost sounded like the sound was improved because the bass lines from Deadmau5 were so dirty. Just loved the prog/whatever-you-call-it he played. Nice change from the trance I normally listen to.
Was really cool to see Deadmau5' posse supporting him. Parents, siblings, friends. Was a really cool atmosphere and vibe and it was a pleasure to witness his first major gig in T.O. I will be watching out for this kid!
wtfs of the night:
- Random people jumping up onto the edge of the DJ booth trying to high-five Deadmau5 right as he's in the middle of transitioning between tracks! :wtf:

sick sick party! this was my official guv return after a nice break from it. so glad i went. i was also reminded of the reasons i hate it. haha.
deadmau5 was unreal. flawless mixing. bomb after bomb with some nice prog in between. joel... your dad is sick!!! lol. had some pretty good conversations with him. he said to me "5 years ago i was yelling at him to turn that off, now look at him... now i'm bugging him to let me drive the limo"... and you followed up with that saying "there is one place you never thought you would take your parents...... guvernment". i then said "at least your parents are proud of you at guv... imagine my parents seeing me at guv right now... lol
anyways... i had to leave early to go to work. but i'm sure the party is still ragin' on. good job deadmau5... wish i could've stayed for more of zabiela. lookin' forward to the reviews. |

lol...good times...highlight of the evening was Joel trying to get back into the guv, yelling at the bouncer, "I was the headliner tonight, let me in!!". All in all, very proud of the telent. Zabiela was good times, tossing in a whole bunch of randomness.
Side note: Acid Lounge sucks compared to Gallery. I hope they fix it up...and soon. |

Mau5 was (surprisingly) splendid, JZ was better :)

Anyone that knows me would know that I don't like house at all, there are a few exceptions like electro house and James Zabiela. Put Deadmau5 and James Zabiela in one room and it was the best house (non-trance) event I have ever been to.
Where was the big mau5 head Joel?!?!
More review coming after, and for anyone that missed the show, I got a nice lil video of James Zabiela for everyone :D

WoW just Wow ... what a great night. Deadmau5 and James Zabiela in one night was by far one of the best parties i have been too. Thanx to shaya for the free passes !!!
Deadmau5 was good but not my fav set of his, he played what a main room set should sound like personally i like the style he plays at more intimate venues vs. "big room".
Zabiela blew me away just sheer awesomeness, great build ups with killer drops and just an epic set overall 10/10.
this is one for the record books 10/10 |

i think zabiela dropped a remix of Steve Lawler - Violet but i can't put my fninger on which one it was. Whaterver the it was....it sounded GREAT in that room. |
