I agree, those were some great years. But lets not delude ourselves and think that because we elect Bill Clinton's wife, those years are gonna come back.
| quote: | | Earth to jashic, this country's still racist. Obama's no less of a hate-magnet, and the second he gets elected, you'll see the largest secret service EVER in the history of the USA assembled to protect him. There's a reason Hillary's ACTUALLY winning right now (a simple fact no one really wants to admit since Tuesday).... there's plenty of people that think she's the right choice. Just because the voices at an Obama rally are louder does not mean there's more people there. |
I'm talking about republicans and independents. Last I heard, she's not getting their votes.
Of course democrats will vote for hillary in the general election. It's the partisan thing to do and its in vogue. |

Well, too often, Obama supporters are saying they're voting for him because they don't want to put in a Clinton in office, especially two Clintons... They need to be reminded that "Clinton" will not have a negative connotation in the history books 20, 50, and 100 years from now, not to mention in the mind of anyone with a brain who can see past the fact that he got a BJ from someone other than his wife.

We'll have to see then... There's too much shadiness on the part of the Republicans... Millions of dollars going into his campaign have come from staunch neo-conservative Republicans, tons of Republicans are voting in the primaries for Obama because they know if he wins, McCain and the Republican campaign machine (which is a very good one) will have 6 easy months of beating him to pulp. Call me a conspiracy theorist, but when a huge majority of my family's Republican friends are saying they did this (vote for Obama), emails are coming from the RNC to Republican voters to do this, it really makes you wonder how many of these Obama-supporting Republicans are really truly supporting Obama in November... We need to make primaries closed only to Democrats, it makes no sense that independents and Republicans can choose our candidate! We'll see in November; anything I or anyone says now is only speculation at this point... Polls have been consistently wrong throughout this primary process... I won't say you're wrong, but there's a million things to consider when referring to "Republican support" for Obama. Hell, there's a huge % of Dems that will go for McCain if Obama is the candidate. States like New Jersey and New York are totally succeptible to going to McCain according to some polls. We really don't know anything for sure 100% at this point. |

according to who? half the nation has a negative view of clinton. That's MILLIONS of ppl. ROFL. The history books will also all end with that famous cigar and the sloppy bj. not that its right because it isn't, but thats how it'll end.

That's all clinton will be remembered for. Sorry but that is his legacy as agreed by almost every political pundit out there on both sides of the aisle.
Y'know, this discussion is all sounding too familiar. I should follow my rule to never argue with an extremist in either party. I'm done discussing politics with the likes of you. If the clintons, to you, are the best thing to happen since sliced bread then who am I to argue?
Oh, and your last paragraph. Copy and replace republican with democrat and switch around clinton and obama and voila, a republican response! |

Says who? Now you're a supreme being in touch with the pulse of the nation? lol! As for the history books, they'll all show how good of an 8 years he presided over and how much of a waste of millions and time the Republicans poured into something so stupid as a BJ. I'm not an extremist, I just use logic... Extremists are the ones saying "He's a ing newbie wannabe president with no experience" (what you said about Obama) and thinking that's somehow okay to vote for. Whatever, I'm done haha... No offense or anything with my posts, I'm glad this hasn't escalated to levels some other politics threads I've seen had... Cheers! lol.. |

yes, I am a supreme being. I am the only person on the planet with google access.
If you're saying that half the country does NOT have an unfavorable view of clinton, you are further extreme than I thought, and way misinformed. Google. It's your friend. You'll find unfavorable ratings dating back to 1993. Annual unfavorable ratings are recorded from 1993 through 2007. You'll find hundreds of links providing you raw data, line graphs, pie charts, etc in case you dont know how to read some of them. if you're biased towards dot charts, they have those too. And for those really into arithmetic, I believe they have detailed spreadsheets by demographic with standard deviations. |

Below are his approval ratings for the last 2-3 years of his presidency. You wanted to make this a Bill Clinton discussion when you asked me for his accomplishments, and I was more than glad to do so because I will shoot you down time and time again with facts, and not speculation... Because every media and political pundit was "disgusted" with his last few years does not mean the American people were. As for Hillary's ratings in New York, last time I checked, they were actually very very good.
