| I remember going to DEMF like 5 years ago and Stacey Pullen was one of the biggest names there. |

That is were RJT and us will be staying. I have stayed there twice and had good experiences both times. Its the only 4 star hotel in Detroit. Its a few more block away from the festival but is in walking distance. The rooms are all suites so expect a bigger then normal room. Most have a separate siting area and bedroom.
Don't stay if you are expecting a place to have a rave cave. Its a little more low key. If you want to get away from all the madness right off Jefferson then it will be your ticket. The extra few block wont be to bad and its in a great area of town. |
thanks for your post. i booked a suite there after reading it. (even though their website is teh suck.) :)
this will be my first time going to demf. hell, this will be my first time partying in detroit. i've driven through a load of times going to toronto, but yeah -- it should be a good time.
i almost went last year when i heard gui b. was coming. i hope they book him again.
and lol @ your rave cave comment. it gave me nostalgic feelings of vegas. :clown: |

| Aparently Richie was not being honest to my friends in Miami. OH WELL, ALL THE BETTER FOR THE D!!! Yippeeee! Now, we just need Matthew Dear on board and the weekend is complete. This is by far the best DEMF lineup I have ever heard of, seen, witnessed, dreamed of, imagined, etc. It is gonna be amazing! Congrats Paxahau! Detroit, Techno Town! Woop Woop. |

| I totally fell for the whole "Hawtin is skipping this year" thing and made an ass of myself(not hard to do) by making such a statement to some others....you guys are idiots. Haaa, just kidding...maybe. |

I believe there are taxis and 'metro cars' available at detroit metro airport, but i have never heard of any public transportation from there to the city before. Better do some more research on that. And, who booked up all the hotel rooms anyways? I swear like 8 hotels in Detroit I was considering staying at all sold out since the last time I looked. I think I'm just going to taxi it out to Royal Oak every night/morning now or just drive or something. |
thanks for the info!! i'll be sure to google map the airport and hart plaza before i book to be sure they're not more than an hour or so apart.
can't wait to check out some of detroit's venues after the festival  |

The airport is like 25 - 30 minutes from Hart Plaza. I'm not sure about going anywhere FROM the airport, but its a flat rate (or at least it used to be) of $20 going TO the airport from anywhere in metro Detroit.
According to http://www.metroairporttaxi.org/rates.htm its about $41 from the airport to downtown Detroit. |
