zabiela and benassi attract the WMC miami crowd, while the only reason DEMF became what it is is because it was an alternative for people who didnt want to party with a sea of douchebags that would descend into miami from jersey and elsewhere.
that's aside from the fact that neither of them is techno.
it should stay that way and i have attended zero DEMFs. |

I'll agree with you on Benassi, but not Zabiela. I've been to the festival six times and yes they sometimes end up booking a douchebag like Benassi, but having him on the bill isn't going to affect the crowd (it's going to be a bunch of mashed kids wearing goggles like usual). Plus, if you had ever been to demf, you would realize that it isn't just techno... a common misconception. It never has been all techno, and it never will be. And on the Zabiela note, if you followed his music you'd know that he is one of the most eclectic djs out there and - oh my god - he even dabbles in techno. Bash away, but ignorance is not going to win this battle.

He could just be playing an after party. A lot of DJ’s put DEMF on there schedule and stuff to be cool but they are really only playing after parties.

Yeah! Your making it to DEMF. Its on bitch, you better be ready for a ride. Honestly I’m glad your making it to the other motherland.
Also its three days. Saturday, Sunday and Monday with the opening party being at a club Friday night. The opening party is usually one of my favorite parties of the weekend because everyone is in good spirits and has a have a brain on them.

As far as the lineup I am neither blow away or disappointed. Every year there a few people who seem to break the mold but it never seems to affect the integrity or demeanor of the festival. I really have no problem with Zabiela. Even though I think his skill is muted by his taste in music I think he will be a good fit. People have to remember this is only the preliminarily bookings. They will announce many more so hopefully some gaps will be filled. |

| Girl Talk? I've always kinda wanted to see him live, but I never thought it would be at DEMF. If its the same guy I think it is, hes along the lines of DJ AM. |

b.o.o.o.o.o.o. I understand with a genre like that (mashups and whatnot) you would have a preset plan, but if youre going to do that, just be a producer.
Ohh, and about bringing in Benassi and Zabiela, they will bring in more people than just the usuals, which will bring more money than the past, which will hopefully be able to keep the festival afloat for a few more years, and with enough support, stop charging for entry. (wishful thinking) |

Another TA opened for him in NYC last year and basically couldn't believe what he was watching (though he knew full well what it was).
Definitely went in a fan and came out a little bit disillusioned. |
