Omggg I haven't heard that track live YET in any form or fashion. One of my alltime favs too :(
Seemed to be a great nite, thx god it was at Roseland.
Not a bad playlist at all as I'm reading it - good old school tracks and productions which I haven't heard live in a loooong time. But I could have totally done without Anthem then Tool repeating 3x as I've heard. Those two tracks would totally just kill the vibe and the dancing circles around us, and totally made Summerstage 07 (the first day when it rained) a bit lame. But PVD>Ferry>Armin>Tiesto and this playlist proves it. I dunno, to me there's still little short of perfection than the old school simplistic melodies that is signature PVD...
Jay threw down lotsa old-school PVD at Meres place - hearing PVDs Out There n Back ablum and Tranceenergy 2003
Was totally worth going there for :tongue2 totaly worth getting UP at 630am to head over to SI
Btw thx Molly for the super-early morning bday wishes over AIM. Def missed ya <3 |

Insane. Reminded me a lot of his old Roxy sets, which I always thought were his best in NY. Best I've heard him in a long time. :eyes:
When he wants to be, he's untouchable. |

It was worth the hassle I went though coming from Boston and commuting to/from my cousin's place in Brooklyn at 6am.
Simply amazing. |

| whoever said paul played like his miami space sets.......all for nothing but the past few years pauls sets at space during wmc have not been impressive at all.....minus the first year i saw him there back in 04. his sets in ny blew those ones out of the water. so far the playlist is so-so. cant judge caue i wasn't there but tool, wundervol, and anthem would have killed the vibe for me.....i can't stand those tracks. |

I had an awesome time, Roseland's sound system is so much better than most of the other venues in new york, just makes it so much more enjoyable when it can be played really loudly and yet its not straining the speakers. Paul did a great job I thought, and after ~230 or so when the main floor started clearing out a bit (who are the people that come to these things for like 2 hours anyway? why bother?) the night just kept getting better. Does anyone know which song was being played like right at midnight ~ 12:05 or so, it was right when the projector first came on, I loved that song and I'd love to find out what it was.
edit - the song I'm thinking of may be 6am, just listened to a preview on beatport, going to buy it and see if it is, I hope so :) |

First I forgot my ticket at home so I had to head back to Queens from Staten Island to get it then I was off to NYC. Yea I know....
We arrived towards the middle to end of Vic's set and he was playing some great tracks ;) Then we got some drinks and found a bunch of friends :) At about 1am we walked up to the bouncers and they let us right up to the balcony, shortly thereafter the bouncers left and a whole bunch of people went up there. I preferrred it up there because there were no bathroom line at ALL and I had already had vodka spilled all over my boobs on the dancefloor so I needed to dry off :p
I thought PVD was great when he first came on but as the night progressed he kind of lost me. At about 4am I wasn't really feeling the tracks he was playing. I still had a great time with friends :) LOL we were all over the place. Nice seeing you all ;)
At one point he played some really slow despressing song and I was literally falling asleep. We kept it going strong from the moment we walked in at 11pm I didn't like the way he closed at all and he didn't even play till 6. I swear I heard him play like 3 tracks 2 times each.
Some songs he played (not in order)
Cressida - 6AM (Kyau & Albert Remix)
Martin Roth & Alex Bartlett - Off the World (played twice 2 different remixes)
Duderstadt - Muhanjala
Ronski Speed - Love All The Pain Away (Kyau & Albert Remix)
Way Out West - Mindcircuis
Paul Van Dyk - Face to Face
Rank 1 - Life Less Ordinary
Markus Schulz feat. Departure - Without You Near (Gabriel & Dresden Remix)
Kuffdam & Plant - The Ones We Loved
Paul Van Dyk - Another Way
Paul Van Dyk - New York City
Paul Van Dyk - Time of our Lives (played twice)
Awesome afterparty as well. We were still going well into the early evening the following day. I still haven't slept yet but after a little rest I will upload the pics ;) |
